FIND THAT PATTERN: THE GREAT POTTERY THROW DOWN

FIND THAT PATTERN: THE GREAT POTTERY THROW DOWN
Are you a fan of The Great Pottery Throw Down? I have to fess up, I am very late to the pottery party. In January, I saw so much chatter in our Facebook group about the programme, and I decided it was exactly what I needed to make the month more joyful. Since then, I have consumed all available series streaming on Channel 4 to understand what the fuss is all about.
The format is the same as The Great British Sewing Bee and The Great British Bake Off. Contestants face three pottery challenges each week. One person is crowned potter of the week, while another is sent home.
Naturally, what drew me to the show was all the talk about host Siobhán McSweeney's killer wardrobe. There were calls for a 'Find That Pattern', so of course, I had to answer.

Siobhán has an enviable wardrobe, and as I have watched series 4-9, I picked a selection of Siobhán's outfits from these series. The looks are wearable, bold, fun, whimsical and full of "ceramic artist" vibes.

This dress has so many details to desire, and I couldn't find a pattern that had them all. But my match does have the all-important sleeves (Siobhán loves big sleeve energy)!. This coat features several times throughout the series.
- Pattern match for the DRESS: TAUKO Aurelia Dress, Blouse and Skirt
- Pattern match for the COAT: Merchant & Mills September Coat

I am obsessed with this set, so obsessed that I hunted it down and discovered it is a Damson Madder outfit... which explains why I like it so much!
- Pattern match for the BLOUSE: Madswick Beth Blouse
- Pattern match for the BOTTOMS: Matchy Matchy Ruffle Brunch Set

I love a nautical look, and sailor collars are all over the high street for spring, so this look is very of the moment!
- Pattern match for the BLOUSE: Madswick Rosamund Blouse
- Pattern match for the HAT: Louvre in TAUKO Magazine Issue No. 16

This bold, painterly set feels very fitting for a pottery artist. I looked it up, and it's actually a beachwear set, so hunt for double gauze or similar wafty fabrics to get this look.
- Pattern match for the BLOUSE: Atelier Jupe Este Shirt
- Pattern match for the TROUSERS: Named Aulio Elastic Waist Shorts and Trousers

Siobhán rocks a jumpsuit, so I could have filled this entire post with them! I've given two options for this incredible retro boilersuit.
- Pattern match for the JUMPSUIT: Closet Core Patterns Blanca Flight Suit
- Pattern match for the JUMPSUIT: Fibre Mood Leah Jumpsuit

This gorgeous button-down dress is made from fine corduroy fabric, making it perfect for springtime!
- Pattern match for the DRESS: Style Arc Belle Woven Dress

Sometimes all an outfit needs to pop is a standout jacket. This robe-style jacket makes a refreshing change from a blouse.
- Pattern match for the JACKET: Sew Over It Sylvia Robe
- Pattern match for the TROUSERS: Friday Pattern Company Flâneur Pants
- Pattern match for the TOP: Tammy Handmade Tyra Tank

Siobhán wears this combo quite a lot. A jazzy top with tapered trousers. If you have a standout print in your stash or on your shopping wishlist, this is a great way to use it!
- Pattern match for the BLOUSE: Pauline Alice Diago Blouse
- Pattern match for the TROUSERS: True Bias Dani Short and Pant

I couldn't take my eyes off this cracking jumpsuit. Choose a print that pops, and you've got a Siobhán-inpsired jumpsuit.
- Pattern match for the JUMPSUIT: Pauline Alice Mila Jumpsuit and Dress

This is what I imagine to be the quintessential artist's outfit. Siobhán fits right in.
- Pattern match for the DUNGAREES: Helen's Closet Yanta Overalls
- Pattern match for the TOP: Christine Haynes James Tee

When Siobhán stepped into the role of host on The Great Pottery Throw Down, she did it in an outfit we could all enjoy. I love how the colour of the trousers elevates the whole look. This is the easiest outfit to recreate!
- Pattern match for the TOP: Wardrobe by Me Boatneck Top
- Pattern match for the TROUSERS: Sew Liberated Chanterelle Pants and Shorts
There you have it. A whole load of pattern matches inspired by Siobhán McSweeney. You are either heading off with a list of things you want to sew, or a desire to book onto a local pottery class. Whichever it is, enjoy!
