Buy the Aurelia Dress, Blouse and Skirt sewing pattern from TAUKO. Aurelia by Mila Moisio includes three patterns in one - a dress, blouse and skirt - all designed for creating comfy and elevated statement looks. The dress was inspired by a beautiful 1966 photograph of Pina Bausch by Walter Vogel, in which she is wearing a fitted boatneck dress with voluminous sleeves.
The variations make the design accessible for different skill sets. If you are a beginner, go for the blouse. The pleated sleeves will create a wow effect, though they are fairly simple to make. The dress requires a bit more time and patience as it is fully lined and fitted. You can make the fully lined skirt by omitting the top part of the dress and adding a waistband.
This pattern is also available in TAUKO Magazine Issue No. 6.

Suggested fabrics:
For the main fabric of the dress and skirt, choose a light to medium-weight woven fabric. Shirting fabrics, cottons, and poplins work well. Some stiffness and structure will help with the sleeves. You can also make the skirt from linen for a more organic and relaxed look. For the lining, choose a smooth, lightweight woven fabric such as satin.
The blouse works best with soft woven fabrics like double gauze. It’s also great when made from knits. For the sleeve lining, you can use the same fabric as for the blouse itself or choose a lighter fabric if needed. For a more structured look, make the blouse from cotton poplin.
