Named Aulio Elastic Waist Shorts and Trousers

Buy the Aulio Elastic Waist Shorts and Trousers sewing pattern from Named. The Aulio pattern includes two simple options: casual shorts and classic wide-leg trousers. Both variations have a high elasticated waist with a cord casing. These timeless garments are quick and easy to sew and comfy to wear!

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: The pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: For both variations, choose either a light or medium-weight fabric, preferably drapey or with a slight drape. Good options include viscose challis and crepe, cotton lawn, or washed linen. 

Fabric requirements: The fabric requirements include a 5% allowance for shrinkage. Note that the fabric consumption may be greater for fabrics with a pattern and for fabrics that need to be cut in one direction.

Shorts: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 80 - 130 cm (7/8 - 1 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 115 - 175 cm (1 1/4 - 1 7/8 yd).

Trousers: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 210 - 260 cm (2 1/4 - 2 7/8 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 250 - 260 cm (2 3/4 - 2 7/8 yd).

Sizing: XS – XXL (approx. UK 4/6 – 26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern has been drafted for a 172 cm (5'8") tall person.

Notions: 30 cm (1/4 yd) of fusible interfacing; 2 cm (3/4") elastic, your waist measurement // Optional: cord for drawstring, your waist measurement + 80 cm (32"). You can buy ready-made cord for the drawstring, or sew a cord from your fabric.
