Buy the Belle Woven Dress sewing pattern from Style Arc. Make a statement with the Belle Woven Dress. This v-neck, button-through dress features shirred statement sleeves with an elastic opening, as well as back waist shirring. It has a gathered bodice, skirt and sleeve heads, double front waist yoke, and optional in-seam pockets.
Note: Style Arc patterns are suited to a more confident maker. The written instructions are not illustrated at each step.

Fabric requirements:
148 cm (58″) wide fabric - cut on the open: Sizes 4 - 22, 3.3 m (3.5 yd) // Sizes 24 - 30, 3.75 m (4.1 yd).
Sizing: 4 – 16 or 18 – 30 (approx. UK 4/6 – 16/18 or UK 18/20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart.
Notions: 90 cm (36″) wide fusing, 25 cm (10"); twelve 14 mm (22L) buttons; shirring elastic; 6 mm (1/4") wide elastic for sleeve opening.

I originally overlooked this pattern because I thought it was maybe a bit too romantic for me. But then I had a closer look and decided to go for it. As soon as I did the first fitting, I was blown away. It fit me like a glove and I was extremely happy with what I saw in the mirror. I used a crisp poplin. Use a fabric with more drape (e.g. viscose) if you want a more fluid look. I made a size 8 because that's what my bust size fit into. My dress is shorter than it's originally intended because I'm tall (178 cm) and didn't add length.
My dress in the printed fabric isn't showing the details very well but there's a shoulder yoke plus a front waist yoke and the back waist has shirring. There are buttons all the way down the front. The bodice has little gathers at every seam that is sewn to the yokes. There's also an option to add shirring mid sleeve but that isn't to my personal liking.
