Buy Issue No. 16 of TAUKO Magazine. What if getting dressed felt like stepping into a building you love? Issue No. 16 explores the fascinating shared language between fashion and architecture: garments that are precise, sculptural, and bold enough to hold their own shape. These are clothes that build space around the body, transforming how we move through the world.

But there’s also a quieter story spotlighted in this issue: one of mending, caring, and creating with intention. Learning from architectural restoration, we look at how the idea of care – of tending to what already exists – can be a design principle in its own right. The articles and essays invite us to see maintenance and mending as an essential part of creativity.

Inside, you’ll find nine stunning sewing patterns by international designers ranging from bold and architectural to timeless and wearable. Zero waste patterns, clean lines, and unexpected subtle design elements are at the core of this special issue.

The magazine includes paper patterns and step-by-step instructions for all designs, which are available in nine sizes ranging from a 31"/78 cm bust to a 57.5"/146 cm bust.

Sewing level: Confident beginner / Intermediate

Excellent edition

I found this edition so interesting and inspirational. The selection of patterns are also unique, but very wearable. I really think this is the best edition so far.

Lovely magazine and patterns

Tauko magazine is designed beautifully, with some interesting articles and patterns. The patterns are included on several sheets at the back of the magazine and need to be traced off. At first it is a little confusing but once you get used to the layout, it is fairly easy to navigate.
The back of the magazine has the instructions for the patterns and also includes key skills that you will need such as darts, mitred corners, pleats and so forth. As a beginner this was really helpful. I am curvy and the patterns do go up to larger sizes which is nice to see. I have already nearly finished the 'Centrefold' top. Fairly straightforward and the top is beautiful. I already have lots of ideas for modifications. Can't wait to try the other patterns.
