The high-waisted skirt even has handy pockets for your oversized sunglasses! Consisting of a skirt with waistband, a button-backed shell top (either sleeveless or long-sleeved) and an open-backed swing top (which can be made up as a jacket) to match, she’s a very versatile pattern.

Suggested fabrics: Miss Maguire suits most fabrics – stiffer silks, crepe and wool give her a smart 60s look, whilst metallics and brocades bring her in line with modern trends, as does shortening the top to a cropped length or doubling the width of the waistband for an even higher rise on the skirt. The long-sleeved swing top, made up as a jacket, works especially well in lace, tulle or organza, especially when the open back is finished with a bow.
