Helen's Closet Evergreen Sweatpants

Buy the Evergreen Sweatpants sewing pattern from Helen's Closet. The Evergreen Sweatpants are mid-rise, pull-on pants designed for comfort and everyday wear. View A is a classic sweatpant with a tapered leg and elastic hem, and View B is an easy, relaxed short. This gender inclusive pattern is designed to be cosy and comfortable for everybody! Both views feature an elastic waistband with an optional interior drawstring, in-seam pockets, and a slightly dropped crotch for a casual fit. Whether you're lounging at home or styling them for a relaxed day out, these sweatpants will quickly become a wardrobe staple.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: One of the pattern pieces has been split (to fit on the A0 sheet) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Medium to heavy weight knit fabrics with minimal stretch (0-10% stretch). Sweatshirting and French terry are ideal.

Choose a medium to heavy weight fabric for best results, approximately 9-14 oz (300-475 gsm). Lighter weight fabrics can work for a softer, more relaxed fit. Stretchier knits can be used but will result in a drapier look.

Fabric requirements: 

View A (pants): 57" (145 cm) wide fabric: 2.2 - 2.7 yd (2 - 2.5 m) // 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 2.5 - 3.7 yd (2.4 - 3.4 m).

View B (shorts): 57" (145 cm) wide fabric: 1 - 1.5 yd (1 - 1.4 m) // 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1.3 - 2 yd (1.2 - 1.8 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 34 (approx. UK 6 – 34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern has been drafted for a 5'6" (168 cm) tall person.

Notions: 1.5" wide elastic; 1" wide elastic // Optional: 2" x 1" piece of fusible interfacing for drawstring openings; drawstring cord; safety pin for drawstring insertion.
