Elbe Textiles Janzi Coat

Buy the Janzi Coat sewing pattern from Elbe Textiles. The Janzi Coat is a fully lined coat with a collar and lapel. The top of the coat is fitted, with princess seams starting at the shoulder. These panels gently flare out from the waist and end at the calf. The coat has two-piece sleeves and welt pockets.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Wool coating fabrics: tweed, bouclé, boiled wool, wool felt, wool blends. This pattern has been designed with heavier weight fabric in mind.

Lining: Lightweight woven fabrics: bemberg, silk, viscose, cotton lawn, polyester lining.

Fabric requirements: 

Main: 110 cm (45") wide fabric: 450 - 630 cm (4.9 - 6.9 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 310 - 450 cm (3.4 - 4.9 yd).

Lining: 110 cm (45") wide fabric: 310 - 420 cm (3.4 - 4.6 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 230 - 290 cm (2.5 - 3.2 yd).

Sizing: A – N (approx. UK 6 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern has been drafted for a height of 5'7".

This pattern has two cup size options: a B cup and a C/D cup. To find your sewing cup size, measure your high bust and full bust. The difference between the two measurements will tell you your cup size.

5 cm (2") difference = B cup
7.5 cm (3") difference = C cup
10 cm (4") difference = D cup         

Notions: 150-200 cm (1.6-2.2 yd) of weft interfacing; 50-60 cm (0.5-0.6 yd) of sleeve head roll; three 2 cm (3/4") buttons // Optional: light or medium weight iron-on interfacing for extra structure; 1 m (1.1 yd) of 1 cm (3/8") wide cotton twill tape; pair of thin (1 cm (3/8") or less) shoulder pads.
