THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 18 JANUARY
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
Happy Sunday team! I have a lovely selection of new patterns for you to nose at, and maybe add to your 2026 sewing list. There's a gorgeous coat that will stretch your sewing skills, a selection of winter-friendly Fibre Mood PDF patterns, and a new issue of Selvedge magazine that is perfect for curling up with.

Atelier Brunette Le Manteau
If you want to slow down and sew a coat that you will get tons of wear out of, this timeless design is a great option. This fully lined coat will never go out of style. It features a relaxed silhouette with slightly dropped shoulders. Other features include a collar, a three-quarter button front for ease of walking, and two large patch pockets to keep your hands warm.
Selvedge Magazine Issue 128 Routes
If you want to transport yourself around the world from the comfort of your sofa, Selvedge magazine is just the ticket! This issue explores the East–West maritime trade that has shaped material culture for centuries. From South Asian and Middle Eastern dhows in the early modern period to container ships today, cloth has been central to these cargoes.
Fibre Mood Avina Dress
Avina perfectly blends structure and ease. This corset-style dress is beautifully shaped through the bust and waist while giving your hips room to move. The neckline and armholes are neatly finished with a facing. Wear Avina on its own with heels for a fancy evening look, or as a pinafore dress over a turtleneck or blouse when it gets colder.
Fibre Mood Fiora Coat
With its integrated scarf, Fiora is the coat of the moment. Fiora is fully lined and features dropped shoulders and wide sleeves for a distinctive silhouette. It has a front button closure, centre back vent, and handy pockets.
Fibre Mood Milena Dress
This dress with real wow factor looks far more complex than it actually is to sew. The front panels twist elegantly around each other to create a unique effect, while the elasticated waist at the back ensures a beautiful fit. Milena has long sleeves and fastens at the centre front with buttons.
Fibre Mood Greta Jacket
Greta is for those who love special details and a bit of a challenge. The seams are sewn with the wrong sides facing and finished with bias binding for a striking effect. Greta also features bound buttonholes, welt pockets, and an optional rib knit collar. Add your favourite belt to tie the look together beautifully.

TAUKO Fairway Trousers
Fairway by Kaisa Rissanen is a mid-rise trouser with a double-button closure and side pockets. The pattern includes two distinct leg variations: a straight leg version for a timeless, streamlined look, and a pleated hem variation that adds a subtle, structured flair. Depending on your choice of fabric, this pattern can easily transition between casual and more dressed-up occasions, making it a true wardrobe staple.
TAUKO Hiutale Dress
Hiutale by Mila Moisio is a jersey dress with the polish of a woven sheath. It features a gently raised neckline, and a centre back seam sculpts the knee-length silhouette. Sleeve slits and hem slits add a touch of elegance. The pattern includes both sleeveless and 3/4 sleeve options.
I hope you enjoyed that edit of new arrivals. I'll see you next week for another update!
