THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 18 OCTOBER
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
Cosy season is here, and this week's new arrivals got the memo! We have a new collection from Named to talk you through, which includes a shirt full of delightful details. There's a cosy-yet-cool jacket pattern and a day dress you will wear over and over again. Grab a warming drink (mine's a chai latte!), and enjoy this rundown of the latest releases!

Merchant & Mills Fabbrica Dress
Looking for a day dress you can throw on without a second thought? Fabbrica is one you will reach for on the daily. Based on the Factory Dress, this loose-fitting dress has a boat neck and generous gathering. Loose and cool for summer or layer it up for winter. Choose in-seam or patch pockets.
Atelier Jupe Louise Jacket
Louise is a stylish, fully lined jacket featuring a one-piece collar (easier to sew with heavy fabrics), zipper, and snap placket. The back features a unique yoke that extends into the back sleeves. Louise's hem is finished with elastic that starts at the front side panels, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit.

Madswick Winne Wrap Skirt
If you are hooked on the BBC hit show, The Traitors, and are feeling like you need to sew something Claudia would wear around the castle, this is it. Winnie is a versatile A-line wrap skirt with buckles and bow ties. Using in-seam buttonholes on the waistband, you can choose which option to show off and which to secure inside the wrap. With mini and midi lengths, in-seam pockets, and optional patch pockets, Winnie works with a wide range of fabrics for an adaptable all-weather staple; go for tartan or checks if you want to channel Claudia.
JULIANA MARTEJEVS Advent Calendar
Create a personalised countdown to Christmas that can be enjoyed for years to come! The different-sized pockets have room for sweets, small gifts, handwritten messages, and vouchers. The pattern includes numbers, letters, and motifs for appliqué, and the pockets and appliqué details are a lovely way to use fabric scraps.

Named Liia Gathered Blouse
Romantic blouses are on trend this season (see Kate's Sew the Trends report!), and this one is as beautiful and whimsical as it gets. Liia is a beautifully airy and feminine blouse with soft gathers along the yoke seam. The long, loose sleeves are gathered at the cuffs with elastic to create a delicate ruffled finish. The round neckline has a deep vent at the front and is finished with binding that extends into ties.
Named Eedit Drawstring Knit Top and Dress
Are you on the hunt for something sophisticated to wear for the festive season? This delivers style and comfort all in one pretty package. Eedit has a wrap-style front with a V-neckline. The distinctive front seam is finished with adjustable drawstrings that allow you to create soft gathers. Choose between a short top version or a midi-length, close-fitting dress. Both variations feature long, slim sleeves.

Named Ruut Shirt and Shirt Dress
If you love a shirt dress as much as we do, this one will make you squeak over all the lovely details it features. Ruut is a relaxed, oversized pattern with two variations: a straight-cut shirt and a shirt dress. Both variations feature a large pointed collar and button-front closure. The shirt has a curved hem, patch pockets, and long cuffed sleeves with deep buttoned vents. The dress has short sleeves, side pockets, and deep vents at the hem, secured with buttons.
I hope you enjoyed that edit of new arrivals. I'll see you next week for another update.
