Merchant & Mills Factory Dress

Buy the Factory Dress sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. Inspired by working women, with a dash of the 1920s, the dress slips over the head and features in-seam pockets and rolled up sleeves. The PDF pattern (both size ranges) and the PAPER pattern for sizes 20-28 (only) also include a top version.

Note: The PAPER pattern for sizes 8-18 does not include the top. If you would like to make a top in sizes 8-18, please choose the PDF or copy shop pattern instead.

Suggested fabrics: Linen, linen blends, tencel, cotton chambray, very fine wool or corduroy.

Fabric requirements: All with or without nap.

Top: 110 cm (43 1/2") wide fabric: 1.6 - 2 m (1 3/4 - 2 1/4 yd) // 120 cm (47") wide fabric: 1.6 - 1.7 m (1 3/4 - 2 yd) // 140-150 cm (55-60") wide fabric: 1.3 - 1.4 m (1 1/2 yd).

Dress: 110 cm (43 1/2") wide fabric: 2.8 - 3 m (3 - 3 1/4 yd) // 120 cm (47") wide fabric: 2.8 m (3 yd) // 140-150 cm (55-60") wide fabric: 1.9 - 2.1 m (2 - 2 1/4 yd).

Sizes 20 - 28

Top: 110 cm wide fabric: 2.1 - 2.6 m // 120 cm wide fabric: 2.1 - 2.2 m // 140 cm wide fabric: 1.65 - 2 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1.65 - 1.7 m.

Dress: 110 cm wide fabric: 3.1 - 3.6 m // 120 cm wide fabric: 3.1 - 3.15 m // 140 cm wide fabric: 2.55 - 3 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 2.5 - 2.6 m.

Sizing: UK 8 – 18 or UK 20 - 28 (approx. UK 8 – 16/18 or UK 20 - 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 0.4 m (1/2 yd) lightweight interfacing; inner pockets can be made in self or lining.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (45 pages for sizes 8-18, 50 pages for sizes 20-28); A0 copy shop pattern (3 sheets for sizes 8-18, 3 sheets for sizes 20-28).
