The Factory Dress Gathered Skirt Hack is a free sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. Instructions for modifying the Factory Dress to give it a gathered skirt.

Note: This is not a complete pattern. You must already own the original Factory Dress pattern to use this hack. If you have not yet purchased the original pattern, you can do so here.

Sewing level: Confident beginner

This sewing pattern is available in the following format:

Suggested fabrics: Same as for the Factory Dress.

Additional fabric requirements: All with or without nap.

Sizes 8 - 18: 110-120 cm (43 1/2-47") wide fabric: + 0.7 m (3/4 yd) // 140-150 cm (55-60") wide fabric: + 1.3 m (1 1/2 yd).

Sizes 20 - 28: 110-120 cm (43 1/2-47") wide fabric: + 1.7 m (2 yd).

Sizes 20 - 24: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: + 1.3 m (1 1/2 yd).

Sizes 26 - 28: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: + 0.7 m (3/4 yd).

Sizes 20 - 28: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: + 1.3 m (1 1/2 yd).

Sizing: UK 8 – 28 (approx. UK 8 – 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's original size charts and finished garment measurements. The designer recommends making this dress a size larger than your usual size.

Notions: 0.1 m (1/4 yd) interfacing.
