Named Ruut Shirt and Shirt Dress

Buy the Ruut Shirt and Shirt Dress sewing pattern from Named. Ruut is a relaxed, oversized pattern with two variations: a straight-cut shirt and a shirt dress. Both variations feature a large pointed collar and button-front closure. The shirt has a curved hem, patch pockets, and long cuffed sleeves with deep buttoned vents. The dress has short sleeves, side pockets, and deep vents at the hem, secured with buttons.

Suggested fabrics: For either variation, choose a light, non-stretch shirting
fabric, such as voile, poplin, or a light linen shirting.

Fabric requirements: The fabric requirements include a 5% allowance for shrinkage. Note that the fabric consumption may be greater for fabrics with a pattern and for fabrics that need to be cut in one direction.

Shirt: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 175 - 220 cm (1 7/8 - 2 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 240 - 315 cm (2 5/8 - 3 1/2 yd).

Dress: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 255 - 340 cm (2 3/4 - 3 3/4 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 365 - 415 cm (4 - 4 1/2 yd).

Sizing: XS – XXL (approx. UK 4/6 – 26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern has been drafted for a 172 cm (5'8") tall person.

Notions: Fusible interfacing, 50 cm (1/2 yd) for shirt or 160 cm (1 3/4 yd) for dress; 12-18 mm (1/2-3/4") buttons, 12 for shirt or 14 for dress.
