SEW THE TRENDS 26: AUTUMN: PART 2
Hello and welcome back to part two of sewing the trends it's time to get stuck into it. If you haven't watched part one then make sure that you go back and check it out.
Right let's start with tops...

The boyfriend shirt the staple of any wardrobe. Here again for another season. Mainly in crisp poplins or cottons.

Three fantastic options for you, any of these would be fantastic. First up the Jenna from Closet Core with sweeping hem. For a slightly longer and ever boxiers cut the Assembly Line oversized shirt is great. The True Bias Merritt is also a fantasic option, and a new release.

Another very popular shape we this simple shirt, that i've named the slinky shirt as it's all down to to the fabrication here. Think silks and satins and get those pins ready when it's time to sew!

All these would work perfectly for the brief, and are similar but I like to give you options! The Coralie Bijasson Adeline is a great options, very similar to the Atelier Jupe Este but this has a little more swing to it. For something with a stuctured shape then the Sew Over It Amy would work well.

I saw so many of these lace detailed cream blouses, I really think almost anything goes here so long as you have some nice detailing and a bit of lace here and there.

Three fantastic blouses that would work perfectly for this, fist up is the Atelier Brunette Blouse, perfect if you like a buttons down. The Matchy Matchy Pintuck Poet has lovely details alreday and a great sleeve shape. Finally the Silversaga Celine with is lovely neckline and ruffle details.

I loved this blouse, super simple but you can tie the ties however you like, and for this season the key is to leave them floating! You'll notice that the style are quite different in the necklines so pick the style you like!

I discovered new patterns that I hadn't thought of! The Fibre Mood Willow for a fantastic sleeveless option, I might make the scarf piece a little longer. The Assembly Line bow top, crucially don't tie the scarf pieces into a bow and you are there. Ther Tauko Dorte can be styled lots of ways but features the ties.

This was a fun way to add some detail to a shirt, I was thinking if you have a shirt you've already made then making a tie to get with it would be a very speedy addition.

Thee options here and yes I know the The Assembly Line bow top, has made it again, but essentially two for the price of one! The Merchant and Mills Scout is another great shout you might need to extend the tie piece for this. Finally the I AM PATTERNS Pearl is great if you want the ties attached.

Lots of the cowl neckline about and loved the silks and satins used. Perfect for adding some detail to a simple outfit.

I've got three great options for you. First the Maison Fauve Tempete, this also comes with sleeves. The Fibre Mood Sky top has a lovely high neckline and a very subtle drape. Frinally the Fibre Mood Elinor has so many lovely details and would look amazing in a satin or silk.

Right lets talk trousers shall we? Lots of tailored ones out there this season, and you can choose between the wide leg and a slimmer straighter leg.

The great options that tick all of the boxes here. For a wide leg look when pick the Bella Loves Billy trousers. For a straighter leg them we love the Puff and Pencil peachy, and for something with a slight taper the Maker's Atelier Classic trouser.

The Barrel is here again this season and you can see there are lots of options here - anything from a tailored trouser to a leather!

Three core options here. The Ready to Sew Emile which has been viral in the sewing community. The Helen's Closet Falconer with a seam down the front of the trousers, or the Assembly Line Barrel leg.

The A-line midi skirt is a really versatile piece for you winter wardrobe, just make sure you pick a structured fabric to sew it in.

Two wonderful patterns the Elbe Textiles Carey skirt (which comes with top patter too) and the True Bias Salida.

The pencil skirt is here again and this time we are thinking leather...

Two fantastic options the Assembly Line pencil skirt and the I AM PATTERNS Perrine which is a wrap style pencil that would work well.

The A-line mini skirt was in a lot of shops, quite an open brief here, as there were skirts like the Cos with quite a bit of flair in them too.

The three options that I have for you are the In The Folds Barkly which is a little longer but could be shortened. The Atelier Scammit Bonjour is a mini with some flair in the skirt and the Puff and Pencil Clueless skirt if you like a wrap.

Last but not least we have the pleated midi skirt, think a structured fabric for this so you really see the silhouette.

If you like a skirt with more kick in it then the Fibre Mood Fausta is fantastic, and for a more paired back look the Maker's Atelier Pleated Skirt.
So that is it for this season I hope it was helpful and you've got some new ideas bubbling for your winter wardrobe... let's just hope it cools down soon!

Thankyou so much for all of your hard work.
I would also add How to Do Fashion No. 7 Vanløse Top to the cowl list. It’s a great pattern.
