I'm ready and waiting to update you on all the sewing stuff to hit the shop this week. There's a stunning new issue of Selvedge magazine, an easy dress that's perfect for party season, a simple-to-sew top, and a quilted coat pattern that is destined to be an heirloom.

Merchant & Mills Pomegranate Lampshade Cover

A lampshade cover echoing childhood memories of 70s décor. The domed pomegranate shape is a great vehicle for lightweight handloom cloth, and delicate details like the drawstrings and ruffle make it fresh and current for any handmade interior.

Kylie & The Machine 2025 Advent Calendar

The 2025 Advent Calendar features 65 premium polyester woven labels, including 44 brand-new KATM labels and 21 artist collaboration labels. Each window contains a generous 2-6 labels, including 21 labels designed by super cool artist Naoshi. 

Peek at all the labels inside in this reveal, but please don't share what you have seen, as surprise-lovers like me won't thank you!

Selvedge Magazine: Issue 127 Aurora

This issue celebrates colour in all its forms – from the vibrant, expressive home of Zandra Rhodes and the painterly weaves of Harriet Wallace-Jones, to the understated palettes of Sámi textile artist Elsa Montell-Saanio. Scandinavian design reflects a deep reverence for light, shaped by long, dark winters. It's a beautiful magazine.

The Dayscape Top is a flirty spin on the boho blouse, with a signature Les Perlines twist! It features a playful tie detail at the back and adjustable front drawstrings that let you control the gathers for a fit that works on every body.

Itch to Stitch Iguazu Top

This elegant yet easy-to-sew knit top features a draped cowl neckline. The pattern has four sleeve lengths to choose from, as well as regular and full bust options for the perfect fit. Veronica Tucker Cordelia Dress and Blouse

Veronica Tucker Sleeve Studio Vol. 1

Sew Liberated Retazo Coat and Vest

If you want to dive in and embrace the craft and upskilling opportunity that sewing a quilted jacket can bring, this is an excellent option. Using the quilt-as-you-go method, each panel is pieced and quilted individually, then cut out and assembled into the coat or vest. Or you can use a thrifted quilt or pre-quilted fabric instead. It's not just the pieced quilt that makes this pattern so unique; the curved collar and princess seams at the front and back aren't found on many other designs.
