THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 19 JANUARY

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Happy Sunday team! I have a lovely selection of new patterns for you to peruse and maybe add to your 2025 sewing list. With a blouse we think could hit the hot list, a dress that will do parties or daily dressing and a must-have bag you could make match your outfits, there's plenty to get excited about.

Silversaga Patterns Amelie Blouse: Stuck on how to kickstart your 2025 sewing? Why not pick a beautiful blouse sewing pattern? I predict this blouse will be one of the most popular releases this year. Amelie is a romantic blouse that transitions seamlessly from casual to refined. Featuring a gathered front with a button placket, band collar, and thoughtful design details. Amelie brings a touch of French-inspired elegance to your wardrobe. That French feel is giving me Sézane vibes

Avid Seamstress Pleated Blouse: Hunting for an everyday blouse that is as appropriate for work as it is for brunch catch ups? This blouse features a pretty rounded collar that can be worn open or closed, and pleats sewn into a yoke creating an original design feature. There are two sleeve options, one that's gathered into a cuff, or a fuller sleeve with a pleated shoulder, so you can pick your favourite.

Wardrobe by Me Carma Camisole: Are you a vest-under-everything-during-winter kind of person? This could be a really handy pattern for you. Carma is a super simple jersey top or dress with narrow straps that can be worn as an undergarment or as a standalone piece.

Sew Over It Hettie Dress: If you have a spot in your collection for a dress that can double up as a party pattern and everyday dress? Hettie can be sewn in a wow fabric to make it a standout party dress, or in something more every day to make the 9-5 a little more fancy. It's easy to sew, pulls over the head and has an easy-fitting trapeze shape. Ties are sewn into the side seams under the bust so you can cinch the dress in at the back for a more defined shape. I think it's a great pattern that could be so useful to have in your stash.

Sew Over It Beret: Now, this is a pattern I have never seen! You can sew your own beret - maybe even one that's complimentary to your me-made outfit. This scrap-busting project will help you use more of your fabric while creating an ultimate co-ord. It's also suitable for absolute beginners so is an easy make.

New Craft House Lottie Bag: Feel like switching things up and starting your 2025 sewing with an accessory? Easily tucked under your arm, it has just the right amount of space for all your essentials, Lottie is super cute, easy to sew up, and the perfect introduction to bag making. You could even make one to match your outfit!

Petits D'om Sinbad T-shirt: A useful pattern for sewing practical childrenswear, Sinbad is a jersey tee with short or long sleeves. Choose between a classic round neckline, henley neckline (with or without a small collar), or buttons or snaps at the shoulder. There are also options for shoulder yokes and a patch pocket or welt pocket.

That's me down for another week, hopefully that has got the creative juices flowing and gives you some options for your 2025 sewing list.
