The New Craft House Lottie Bag

Buy the Lottie Bag sewing pattern from The New Craft House. This petite bag is what every outfit needs – easily tucked under your arm, it has just the right amount of space for all your essentials. Lottie is super cute, easy to sew up, and the perfect introduction to bag making. 

Experiment with different fabrics and make it with or without the ruffle frill. The bag is fully lined and has a zip closure and internal pocket. The strap is padded with wadding.

Suggested fabrics:

Main: The designer recommends a medium weight fabric with no stretch but Lottie will work in lots of different fabrics. A nylon or ripstop would be great for a sportier look, a duchess satin would make an amazing fancy event bag, and denim would be a cool option. If you’re feeling brave you could also make it in leather, but you might need to do some hand stitching on the bulkier seams.

Lining: A lightweight viscose works well, but use a heavier weight fabric if you’d like to add more structure.

Fabric requirements: All length x width.

Main with ruffles: 1.2 m x 60 cm (48" x 24").

Main without ruffles: 70 cm x 55 cm (28" x 22").

Lining: 70 cm x 45 cm (28" x 18").

Wadding: 10 cm x 55 cm (4" x 22").

Sizing: Finished measurements: W 24 cm x H excluding strap 11.5 cm (9 1/2" x 4 1/2") // Strap: 47 cm (18 1/2").

Notions: One 26 cm zipper; optional interfacing (for a more structured bag).
