It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Are you ready for the scoop on the hottest sewing pattern releases? This week, I'm sharing why we're smitten with the latest indie barrel leg pattern and its subtle shape, plus revealing the newest design from your current favourite designer—Sewing Therapy! We also have a couple of new designs from Pattern Fantastique, which arrived with an enormous restock of their paper patterns.

BF Patterns Parker Pants

For loungewear-level comfort with a fresh, modern twist, the Parker Pants are a sure-fire pick. The Parker Pants feature a twisted side seam, a subtle barrel leg, and an easy elastic waist that ensures you won't have to sacrifice comfort for cool-factor. Designed with wearability in mind, a relaxed fit makes Parker easy to throw on, while deep front scoop pockets and back patch pockets cover all the bases for your day-to-day routine.

Helen's Closet Holmes Dress

The Holmes Dress is a relaxed and stylish throw-on-and-go dress for everyday wear. Comfortable, classic, and endlessly wearable. With a deep V-neck, button-front bodice, and short sleeves, Holmes is perfect for warm weather but also layers beautifully with leggings and sweaters. Holmes features a gently cinched drawstring waist—pull the ties snug to add shaping, or loosen them for an effortless, laid-back fit. 

Sewing Therapy Low Bib Pinafore

The Low Bib Pinafore is a celebration of refined proportions and graceful utility. This design features a unique cropped front bib that begins just below the bust, creating an elongated silhouette. The standout feature of this piece is its versatile strap system. You can choose to sew the slender shoulder straps directly to the back for a minimalist look, or use the back strap loops for an adjustable tie-back detail. Pattern Fantastique August Jacket

Reminiscent of Bauhaus ballet costumes, the August has a strong sculptural form. Different construction methods for different fabric weights mean you can have an August for all seasons. The Bound August is designed for pre-quilted fabric or a thick blanket weight coating and has a contrast bound finish. The Faced August is designed for heavier weight denim or canvas fabric and is finished with a full facing and topstitching for a utilitarian edge.

Pattern Fantastique Magda Dress

Magda is a relaxed, romantic dress with mild medieval vibes. Fend off witch hunters with spells tucked into those billowy sleeves. The shape of the V-neckline is repeated in the bust and skirt yokes. The drawstring waist sits at the high hip, and the skirt panel utilises the bias to create a bolder hem flare.

Style Arc Gracie Coat and Headscarf

Gracie will be your new go-to for effortless outerwear. This unlined coat pattern offers two front options: a button front with a high round collar that can be worn open or standing, or a wrap front with a revere collar. Designed with a modern boxy fit, dropped shoulder, and two-piece sleeve, Gracie is versatile and easy to wear. Choose in-seam or patch pockets, and a bonus headscarf completes the look!

Style Arc Norman Jumpsuit

Norman is a pull-on jumpsuit with front and back V-necks, deep armholes, and wide 7/8 length legs. There are options to add back elastic and in-seam pockets.
