It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Ready to talk sewing patterns? I thought so! This week, I'll be chatting through an achingly cool collection that is full of Cos vibes, a smart twist on a cardigan that won't look out of place in the boardroom and a quilted pouch pattern that will be addictive to sew.

Friday Pattern Company Eddy Cardigan Blazer

We all love cardigans, right? I thought I'd seen them all until I'd seen Eddy. Merging the comfort a cardigan gives you with the power of a blazer, this powerhouse pattern is just waiting to elevate your handmade wardrobe. This fully lined collarless blazer features body darts for subtle shaping, front patch pockets, a single front button, and back vent.

 The sewing process is approachable yet skill building, and its simple yet impactful silhouette offers endless styling opportunities. You can see how much the choice of fabric impacts the overall feel of the garment, so you are bound to make more than one.

New pattterns from The Assembly Line

If you loved the Cos edit (missed it, head on over to see what all the fuss is about), The Assembly Line patterns is a great brand match. We restocked the range and have added four new styles to the shop. The scarf collar shirt is my personal favourite!

The Scarf Collar Shirt combines clean lines with a versatile sewn-on scarf collar.

The Square Neck Dress has an A-line shape, bracelet-length raglan sleeves, and side seam pockets.⁠

The Balloon Skirt features a flared silhouette, straight waistband, concealed zip closure at the back, and side seam pockets. Designed for versatility, the pattern includes two style options: with or without the distinctive balloon effect.⁠

The Pleated Trousers are cropped with a dropped crotch. The pattern offers flexibility with either a high or low waistband, as well as a regular or straight fit waist. ⁠

Lenaline Patterns Anoushka Blouse

Looking for a beautiful new blouse to add to your collection? Take a look at the Anoushka Blouse. With romantic ruffles and billowy sleeves, it's a heartbreaker. This pattern is for the visual learners in the house as it includes very minimal written instructions, so you'll need to follow sewalong video.

Tilly and the Buttons Cece Joggers and Shorts

The popular TATB Drew pattern now has a pal - the Cece Joggers! If you fancy sewing your own leisure set, combine Cece with Drew and make the most of the colour-blocking potential. Choose to sew Cece with or without the side panel detail and pick from joggers or sweat shorts.

Petits D'om Nordic Snood or Hood

This must be the cutest new arrival we've ever had touch down. Suitable for children and teens, the snood covers the upper part of the chest, and can be pulled up to cover the mouth and nose. It can be sewn with or without a hood, which can be lined or unlined. You can also add bear ears to the hood and the drawstring can be finished with cord ends or pompoms - how adorable!

Lou Orth Designs Gemini Pouch

Fancy a mini-project to mix things up? The Gemini Pouch is a fun to make double-zip compartment pouch with an added slip pocket in the middle. The pattern includes two sizes. Both are fat quarter friendly and great wadding/batting scrap busters!

Gemini is perfect for organising and storing a whole range of items, from makeup to sewing tools and supplies. Or you can batch sew several and keep them on hand for gifting.
