THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 15 DECEMBER

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

This is the final Edit of the year, but before we love you and leave you, we have a cracking selection of patterns to share. There's a stunning scarf coat that will be worth taking your time over, a top and dress pattern with 36 ways to make it and a new batch of Fibre Mood PDFs to drool over. Enjoy!

Bella Loves Patterns Rupert Coat - Scarf coats are all over the high street at the moment and this pattern is better than any I have seen. Cleverly, the scarf permanently attached to the neckline so there's no risk of losing it. It's important to note that this pattern was exclusively designed for double face splittable coating fabrics, which gives you something new to shop for!

Helen's Closet Spindrift Jacket - If you have a love of layering (and who doesn't), this pattern is a must! It has a relaxed fit with a dropped shoulder and all the details of a denim jacket or chore coat and is unisex in its styling. Helen's instructions are always top-notch, so it will be an enjoyable sew.

JULIANA MARTEJEVS Basic Cardigan - You can't get more essential than a cardigan and I like that this one offers a different silhouette to what is already out there. The v-shaped neckline is useful for showing off what you are wearing underneath, while the fit avoids the cardigan being bulky.

Tammy Handmade Simi Skirt - Searching for a classic skirt that will work hard in your autumn/winter wardrobe? The Simi skirt is a great option. This classic A-line mini skirt features back waist darts, a chic button front, and playful patch pockets.

Notches Moriko Top and Dress - Do you love patterns that give you loads of options to play with? Well, the Moriko pattern has 36 ways to sew it, which is sure to keep you busy. Designed for knit fabrics, you can have options to make a basic round-neck fitted T-shirt or tank to a striking one-sleeve dress with side gathers. The diagonal panelling across the front and back adds a playful edge, perfect for combining colours or experimenting with see-through fabrics. With various lengths and optional high slits for the dress, Moriko easily transitions from casual daytime looks to glamorous evening styles.

Notches Child/Teen Willy Top and Dress - If you like to get bang for your buck with children's patterns, this one is extremely good value as you can make 64 different garments from just one pattern. Designed with a comfortable straight cut and dropped shoulders, this pattern is easy to sew and perfect for everyday wear. Choose between woven or knit fabrics to create anything from a cosy, laid-back look to a more polished, dressy outfit. With several sleeve options, including ruffle and balloon sleeves, and multiple lengths, from a cropped top to a long dress, Willy truly adapts to your personal style.

Dhurata Davies Children's Wren Pullover - If you're looking for a cute and cosy project that is quick to whip up for the little ones in your life, then look no further. Wren is an oversized pullover hoodie or top for children, featuring long raglan sleeves, side vents with mitred corners, and a high-low hem. The pattern includes three neckline options: a hood, high neck, and crew neck. The sleeves can be cuffed or simply hemmed.

New Fibre Mood PDFs - If you loved the designs from Fibre Mood 30 but didn't want to trace them off from the magazine, you'll be pleased to hear that we have the PDF options in stock! The patterns included dresses, tops, trousers, a skirt and jacket - all perfect for a seasonal wardrobe.

I can't believe I am saying this, but that's a wrap for 2024. Thank you so much for watching the Edit and making it part of your weekly routine. I'll see you on the other side. Happy Christmas and have a wonderful New Year team!
