THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 10 MAY

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Are you ready to greet the latest designer to join the Fold Line family? Well, Kate will be telling you all about them. Approachable, classic and chic, we think you are going to love them. Plus, we have two new dress patterns from Puff and Pencil, and a new issue of Selvedge magazine has landed. It's an inspiring Edit.

Sew Bake Make

Created by the talented sewist and content creator Candice, Sew Bake Make is a sewing pattern brand brimming with creativity and passion.

After leaving behind a career in law, Candice has embraced her true calling—designing beautiful patterns and inspiring others to discover the joy of sewing. Her journey from courtroom to craft room is a testament to following your passion, and it shines through in every pattern she creates. You can read our interview with Candice to find out more about the brand!

Sew Bake Make Nora Tank

The Nora Tank is a breezy, boxy fit top with a deep V-neck and multiple views. You will wear it (and sew it) loads.

Sew Bake Make Strawberry Shortcake Dress

The Strawberry Shortcake dress and top features a slight scoop neckline and is fitted with elastic through the waist. The curved drop waist is a delightful detail.

Sew Bake Make Sourdough Set Bundle

This bundle includes both the Sourdough Top and the Sourdough Pants and Shorts patterns, with a 25% saving vs buying them individually. The top features a high boat neckline and multiple options. The bottoms are wide leg, elastic waist pants and shorts have lots of options and fun style details. Sew them in the same fabric for an on-trend set.

You can also buy the Sourdough Top and the Sourdough Pants and Shorts patterns separately.

Sew Bake Make Cinnamon Long Sleeve Top

Cinnamon is designed to stand out without feeling fussy. It has a bold one-shoulder cut, and soft gathers at the shoulder give it a pretty drape across the neckline. The long fitted sleeves balance out the asymmetry, and the close fit makes it super easy to dress up or down.

Sew Bake Make Caradmom Quilt Jacket

This pattern is for you if you can’t walk past a thrifted quilt without imagining its second life! Designed for quilted fabrics (thrifted or handmade) and fully reversible, Cardamom features a stand collar to keep the wind out and large pockets for cold hands (and snacks). It has an intentionally oversized fit, so you can layer it over chunky sweaters and cosy sweatshirts.

There is also a mini version of this pattern for babies and children, which can be purchased separately here, or in a bundle with the adult version here.

Sew Bake Make Boxy Makeup Bag

This is the perfect boxy bag to hold all your makeup or other essentials! There are two sizes: small and large. The inside is fully lined, and there is an optional webbing tab. At £3.50 for the PDF pattern, it's a steal!

Puff and Pencil Moon Dress

If you are hunting for evening-wear attire, this could be a great option. The fitted style gives a sleek and simple silhouette that has a little feature flourish: the long slit that fastens with four buttons. The dress has bust and back darts for shaping, and the sleeves feature an elegant keyhole detail.

Puff and Pencil Ruched Dress

This fun little number is a perfect day-to-night dress, ideal for holidays when you need an item to multitask. Pair it with sandals for and a crossbody bag for daytime exploring, and heels and a clutch bag for dinner under the stars. One shoulder is gathered with drawstrings, creating a soft drape across the bust, and the ruched detail at one side seam of the bodice creates an elegant silhouette.

Selvedge Magazine Issue 130 Flower

We've had a delivery of escapism in a magazine - Selvedge. Celebrating all things textiles, this magazine is as interesting as it is beautiful.

This issue explores the enduring relationship between textiles and the botanical world. For centuries, flowers have provided both subject and substance: from Marie-Jeanne "Rose" Bertin's floral adornments for Marie Antoinette, to the use of plants as dyes and embellishment, to the countless ways petals, stems, and leaves have been translated into thread.

I hope that's left you brimming with inspiration! Enjoy browsing the newest sewing pattern releases.
