THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 20 SEPTEMBER

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

We are well into the 'September refresh', ready to reset and sew to our hearts' content. So this mega drop of lovely new things is well timed. We have an incredible blouse that ticks the scarf-trend box, a chic pattern drop from one of your favourite French designers, and a 'forever' piece from Tilly and the Buttons that will be worth your sewing time.

Fabric Godmother Bramble Blouse

Bramble features a signature collar that ties effortlessly at the front and forms a triangular shape at the back, inspired by the timeless elegance of a classic scarf. The triangle scarf trend is here to stay, and this pattern allows you to sew your own version!

Itch to Stitch Baiona Dress

The bodice features a V-neck neckband and grown-on short sleeves, and there are both regular and full bust options for a custom fit. The elastic waist offers comfortable shaping, and the A-line skirt (with optional in-seam pockets) falls to the knee for a silhouette that feels both classic and carefree. Whether you choose the plain hem or the playful ruffled hem, Baiona is a dress you'll want to wear again and again.

Tilly and the Buttons Manon Jacket

Make a forever piece to treasure with this effortlessly stylish pattern. Manon can be made either as a classic trench or cosy jacket, with the convertible collar worn open or buttoned up at the neck.

Tilly and the Buttons Manon Lining Add-on

This add-on pack includes bonus pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions for lining all versions of the Manon Jacket. The result? A beautifully finished garment that's just as lovely on the inside as it is on the outside.

Maison Fauve Roman Overcoat

Cocooning and comfortable, this beautifully cut coat in two lengths with two pocket options is a timeless piece you'll never tire of wearing. Standout details include a centre back inverted pleat for ease (and style), a classic collar or a statement two-piece collar, and sleeves finished with a tab for a tailored look or a wide turned-up cuff. Roman also features a detachable collar tab. Wear it fastened with the collar turned up to keep out the wind, or casually unbuttoned to fully embrace that quintessential overcoat style.

Maison Fauve Lioness Top

This bias-cut top features a beautifully draped cowl neckline. The wide straps ensure all-day comfort and make it easy to wear with a bra. Whether in a plain fabric or a print, it slips into any wardrobe while keeping its distinctive 90s allure.

Maison Fauve Missive Blouse

If romance were a blouse, it would be Missive. Light and airy and beautifully crafted with exquisite finishes, this elegant blouse is full of irresistible charm. A graceful neckline, shaped shoulder yokes, delicate gathers, and statement sleeves in two variations all come together to make it truly special. A love letter to sewing, Missive is a pattern to fall head over heels for!

Maison Fauve Pirate Breton Top

Every wardrobe needs a Breton top – and it's even better when it has that little something extra. Pirate brings a fresh twist to this timeless staple with a modern square neckline, softly structured shoulders enhanced by pleats, and decorative faux button detailing. Whether sewn in a traditional striped knit or plain jersey, this easy-to-wear top is set to become your new everyday favourite.

Maison Fauve Child/Teen Miss Pirate Breton Top

Miss Pirate brings a fresh twist to this timeless staple with a modern square neckline, softly structured shoulders enhanced by pleats, and a centre back opening fastened with a button. Whether sewn in a traditional striped knit or plain jersey, this easy-to-wear top is set to become an everyday favourite.

Maison Fauve Child/Teen Miss Zenith Blouse and Dress

The little sister of the Zenith pattern, Miss Zenith incorporates the original design's signature features: a sunray effect at the front and lovely gathered sleeves. Whether made as an adorable blouse or cute A-line dress, with three sleeve options, your little one will be the cutest "Little Miss Sunshine".

I hope you enjoyed that edit of new arrivals. I'll see you next week for another update.
