Pattern Sewciety Marianne Dress

Buy the Marianne Dress sewing pattern from Pattern Sewciety. Make a statement with this sleek and modern dress, perfect as a wedding or evening/prom gown. While the simplicity of the shape is timeless, the optional exaggerated shoulder ruffle adds a contemporary twist. Marianne features a one-shoulder neckline, waist darts in the front and back bodice, and a floor-length A-line skirt with an optional train. The dress closes with a side zipper.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The sheets will need to be joined with no overlap.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight woven fabric or fabric with low stretch. The sample was sewn in stretch duchess satin.

Fabric requirements: 55" (140 cm) wide fabric: Dress, 3.6 yd (3.3 m) each for main and lining // Skirt train, add 1 yd (0.75 m) main fabric // Ruffle, add 1.3 yd (1.2 m) main fabric.

Sizing: XXS – XXL (approx. UK 8 – 22, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 19" (50 cm) invisible zipper; 13" x 44" (33 cm x 113 cm) fusible interfacing for ruffle.
