NH Patterns Hampton Dress and Shirt

Buy the Hampton Dress and Shirt sewing pattern from NH Patterns. Hampton is a loose-fit, above-the-knee dress with 3/4 and full length sleeve options. The dress has a button-up front bodice with a two-piece shirt collar, and a gathered skirt with pockets. There is also the option to make a shirt with the same button-up front bodice and two-piece shirt collar plus a back yoke and pleat. The dress does not have a back yoke.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight woven fabric with little to no stretch. The designer recommends something with a nice drape but a little bit of weight to support the button stand and collar. Lightweight cottons, double gauze, linen and blends, chambray and similar fabrics will all work well.

Fabric requirements: The requirements do not take into account pattern matching. If you wish to pattern match, you may need more fabric than stated.

Sizes 4 – 18

Dress: 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.8 m (2.6 - 3.1 yd) // 137 cm (54") wide fabric: 2.9 - 3.6 m (3.2 - 3.9 yd).

Shirt: 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 1.4 - 1.8 m (1.6 - 2 yd) // 137 cm (54") wide fabric: 1.8 - 2.2 m (2 - 2.4 yd).

Sizes 16 – 32

Dress: 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 3 - 4.3 m (3.3 - 4.7 yd) // 137 cm (54") wide fabric: 3.8 - 4.3 m (4.1 - 4.7 yd).

Shirt: 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 2.1 - 2.6 m (2.3 - 2.9 yd) // 137 cm (54") wide fabric: 2.5 - 2.8 m (2.8 - 3.1 yd).

Sizing: 4 – 18 and 16 – 32 (approx. UK 6 – 18 and UK 16 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 4-18 size range has been developed from a size 10 block with a dressmakers B cup. The 16-32 size range has been developed from a size 22 block with a dressmakers D cup.

Notions: Lightweight fusible interfacing; 12 mm (1/2") buttons, 4-6 for the dress or 7-9 for the shirt.
