THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES – 31 MARCH
Mel Forrest

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Maison Fauve has released a zingy new collection of pieces to sew for summer around the idea of a cruise wardrobe. ‘Fauve Romance’ combines elegance, vintage vibes and Fauve’s signature details, with stunning results.

Effortlessly elegant, the Mimosa Blazer is the highlight of Maison Fauve’s Romance Collection. It has a straight cut, two-piece sleeves, side panels, a false welt chest pocket, and large rounded patch pockets. A shawl-like collar softens the menswear-inspired silhouette for a modern look.

Daïquiri is the perfect little dress or blouse to slip on for an elegant summer look. The shoulders and back are emphasised by the decorative yokes. Daïquiri is assembled using French seams, the armholes are finished with facings, and the neckline is finished with a choice of a facing or bias binding.

From bed, brunch and beyond, this sweet set is pretty versatile. The Ruffle Brunch Set is a fresh and playful on-trend top and bottom duo that can be worn as a full outfit or fun separates.

I feel like this is the only trench pattern you will ever need. The Prado Trench Coat features all the details you might want from a custom-made trench coat and it has three length options.

The Beachcomber Jacket is a practical men’s pattern that is ready for adventure and outdoorsy pursuits. Pick from a hood or collar and fasten with snaps or buttons.

Complete the look with a second new pattern from Friday Pattern Company. The Rambler Pants do what they say on the tin – offer maximum comfort while rambling adventures commence!

The new Atelier Jupe summer collection is gorgeous and there are two patterns we suggest you take a closer look at. The Ava Summer Dress is a shirt dress with a loose fit and gathering at the bust and a belt to cinch it in. As you can see, it looks great made up in prints.

The Elsie Dungarees have loose-fitting legs and a diamond-shaped backpiece. They are breezy and easy to style with a pretty blouse or t-shirt underneath.
