THE EDIT - NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 28TH JULY
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
Peppermint Magazine Issue 61: Fancy drifting off with some summer reading? Blooming with warmth, wonder and hope-filled stories of creativity and community, Peppermint's latest issue is just the ray of sunshine you need. It includes a free printed sewing pattern - the Tansey Top, an easy to sew top that features simple-yet-stylish details like wide turned-up cuffs and a sweet dipped hem at the back.
Madswick Rosamund Blouse: Hands up if you have a crush on collars? Well, I certainly do! Pick from cute sailor collar, sweet little neckties or keep it simple and you can opt for a modesty panel. Rosamund is bound to stand the test of time in your wardrobe. The pattern includes a tip for sewing an on-trend decorative scalloped edge collar - I want to add it to everything I sew!
Madswick MADE-Line Bundle: Are there any beginners in the house? This is the perfect set to start your sewing journey with. This bundle includes all four patterns in the MADE-line collection (which can be bought individually too), I'd say £15.50 is a pretty great price for a complete capsule wardrobe!
Papercut Patterns Lulee Dress and Skirt: A versatile little number, Lulee gives you multiple options for sewing a dress or skirt so it will slot into your wardrobe seamlessly. The styling is classic and elegant, so you can be sure you are making a timeless garment. In the right fabric, Lulee would be perfect for evening or wedding guest wear.
Papercut Patterns Eliza Trench: Thinking about sewing your own trench? This one has a subtle nod to vintage styles with its deep pointed collar and has all the features you could hope for from a wear-it-all-year-long trench. You can make a classic long trench or a short version.
Papercut Patterns Remy Shirt: If you're pondering which oversized shirt pattern is right for you, this is a worthy contender. Pick from a full sleeve or sleeveless cuff and even use this pattern to sew a stylish shacket for the cooler months. My favourite detail is the back yoke with pleat detailing - it's the chef's kiss to an already desirable design.
Papercut Patterns Sera Pant and Short: There have been some pretty great trouser pattern releases this year, but this might be my favourite yet. Sew them up trending barrel leg or keep it classic with a straight leg. In the summer, you can make a cool pair of shorts. Those rounded patch pockets are the pièce de résistance.
Pattern Sewciety Marianne Dress: Have a special event to sew for? Marianne is sure to make a statement. Perfect for weddings, proms or a day at the races, this pattern is full of drama. This floor-length gown features an optional exaggerated shoulder ruffle that feels pretty architectural.
Pattern Sewciety Rene Party Dress: Got a spot in your wardrobe for a party dress? Rene is a straight-forward sew that you could whip up when you don't know what else to wear. The simple front reveals a deep scoop in the back, giving just enough interest to make it a special piece. If you have found party fabric that you don't want to spoil with too many flourishes, this pattern will let it stand out.
