THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 7 SEPTEMBER
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
September is here, and we are happily transitioning into a new season. Today, I'll be sharing four patterns from Tauko magazine that are now available as PDF patterns, and one of them has the most stunning sleeves! Get cosy, pop the Edit video on, and I'll do the talking!
TAUKO Aurelia Dress, Blouse and Skirt
Aurelia includes three patterns in one - a dress, blouse and skirt - all designed for creating comfy and elevated statement looks. The dress was inspired by a beautiful 1966 photograph of Pina Bausch by Walter Vogel, in which she is wearing a fitted boatneck dress with voluminous sleeves.
TAUKO Dynamo Dress
Dynamo is a classic dress with Toast (the retailer) vibes. It features neat band collar, gathered shoulders and a drawstring waist with side ties. The design lines make it a great base for colourful prints, or you can choose to sew it up in two contrasting fabrics.
TAUKO Swing Dress
Fancy putting your pleating skills to the test? This pattern is a great choice! The pleated skirt is easy to adjust to different lengths – make it mini, midi, or maxi, according to your personal preference. If you’re looking for a loose-cut and easy to make slip-on dress, Swing is the one for you!
TAUKO Veranda Jumpsuit
This jumpsuit and playsuit is comfy, easy-fitting and modern. You can wear Veranda loose or use the drawstring to cinch in the waist. The relaxed fit makes it a perfect layering piece – when the cool coastal breeze hits, just add a turtleneck underneath!
TAUKO Luce Trousers
Can't decide whether you love trousers or skirts more? The Luce pattern gives you the best of both worlds. The distinctive, asymmetrical design features a wide skirt-like hem. They have practical pockets at the side seams and a press button closure at the waist.
Coralie Bijasson Naelle Blazer
Naelle is a double-breasted blazer with notched lapels and patch pockets. Its structured fit defines the waist and subtly modernises the look. Classic and timeless, yet full of character, Naelle is the ideal piece to wear both to the office and for a night out.
Coralie Bijasson Nathalie Blazer
Nathalie features a fitted silhouette, tailored collar, and three sleeve variations: classic, pleated, and biker. Easy to style, it pairs beautifully with trousers for a professional look, or with jeans and sneakers for a more casual vibe.
Sew.lala Patterns Suna Tank Top
If you need to sew a selection of base layers, the Suna Tank Top is a good option. The design is slightly looser fitting below the bust and ends at the upper hip, and you have two necklines to choose from. You can choose between two styles of binding to finish the neckline and armholes. Warning! Sewing Suna may become addictive!
That wraps things up for the week. See you soon for the next one!
