THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES – 5 MAY
Kate Underdown

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you had your eye on any of the patterns from the last issue of Fibre Mood, we’ve just added the PDF patterns so you can grab them individually. We are lusting after the Donna Cardigan – a bomber jacket/cardigan mashup that elevates that extra layer. We are partial to a shirt dress and Phyllis is a little out of the ordinary. The striking pleats create a sophisticated and distinct silhouette that still feels quite minimal and Cos-like. The Kenza Trousers hit the mark for the trending wide-leg trouser trend. The double pleats are divine! Finally, we love a speedy and easy sewing project and the Mona Top is it. You can layer Mona over so many pieces in your wardrobe. It’s a very useful piece.

The Liesl + Co Positano pattern is an elegant and easy-to-sew peasant blouse or dress that is great for adding embroidery or embellishment. It’s the perfect blouse for keeping you cool and covered during balmy days and nights on holiday.

The Liesl + Co Laureles pattern is an easy-to-sew and easy-to-wear pull-on top or dress with square neck and princess seams at both the front and back. It includes cup sizes to help you get a great fit.

The Puff and Pencil Collared Blouse is a trendy top with a loose fit, three button/pearl closures at the front, and slits on both sides. This version of the pattern comes with the cone sleeve pieces, so you can make your blouse with pretty sleeves or as a sleeveless style.

Sold on the sleeveless version? You can buy the Collared Blouse without the sleeves and just sew the summery, sleeveless version.

Itch to Stitch is currently delivering some corkers, and this is another classic that I think will have its place in many wardrobes. The Venado Knit Top is a casual-but-not-to-casual design that has both comfort and style in mind. The mini shawl collar is such a lovely detail, giving the pattern a retro feel without being too vintage. The pattern also includes regular and full bust options for a customised fit (full bust has bust darts).
