Kate Underdown

Happy Sunday Fold Liners! It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases.  You might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

Tauko magazine No.6 has been released! We sold out of pre-orders but have added more copies as it has been so popular. We are particularly taken with the theme, which explores the clothing worn in studios and ateliers – perfect for bringing out your inner artist! This issue features a variety of functional and expressive sewing patterns. There are ten sewing patterns included in the magazine, ready for tracing off. The designs include a coat, dresses, overalls, shirts, a bag belt, and more! The magazine also includes interesting articles and gorgeous pictures.

Sizing: UK sizes 6 – 32

Format: Magazine with four pull-out, double-sided paper pattern sheets. The pattern pieces overlap so you will need to trace off the pieces you want to use

We LOVE this new release from Bara Studio! We’ve seen lots of pullover styles on the high street lately (check out our Trending: Pullover Sweaters blog post for more patterns), so the Bara Studio Nela Zip-Neck Sweater is well-timed. This comfortable zip-neck sweater has an adjustable elasticated hem and can be made in a standard or cropped length. You can make it from cosy fleece fabric – something I’ve seen popping up in fabric shops a lot lately!

Sizing: UK 6 – 18/20

Format: PDF. This pattern also has a step-by-step video tutorial (in German with English subtitles).

The Marianne Dress has an elegant bias-cut skirt

You have to love a throw-on dress that instantly makes you feel cool and put together. The Make with Mandi Penny Dress is equally lovely made in brushed cotton for winter teamed with chunky boots or linen for summer teamed with sandals and a pair of shades. It has a loose-fitting bodice, a tiered skirt and multiple options for the neckline, sleeve length and hem! Plus, it’s a great dress pattern for beginners as it has no fastenings.
