If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases.  You might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

We’ve had a big drop of new patterns from indie designer, Juliana Martejevs! The patterns come with video tutorials(in German with English subtitles) rather than standard written instructions which are great for visual learners! Here are four of our favourites:
  • Keira Vest – This quilted gilet with a curved hem is perfect for an autumn walk through the forest or a day in the city.
  • Pippa Polo – This is the classic polo shirt reinterpreted in a loose oversized style.
  • Rory Dress – A pretty midi dress features a deep v-neckline, flared short sleeves and a flared hem.
  • Judy Blouse – This airy babydoll top has an eye-catching ruffle and straps that tie at the shoulders.
Sizing: UK 6/8 – 20

Has anyone thought of adding jeans to your sewing list for 2023? Chalk and Notch have released a groovy new wide-leg or flared jean design that may be what you’re looking for – the Isle Jeans! The waistband is shaped with SIX darts which should help you get a great fit. They are designed for stretch denim, which is quite a good place to start if you’ve never sewn your own jeans. The large patch pockets give them vintage sailor vibes which seems to be pretty popular right now!

They would look great paired with the Chalk and Notch Wren Blouse or the Chalk and Notch Page Hoodie for weekend brunch vibes!

Sizing: UK 8 – 30

Is anyone else planning a little spring clean sort-out or updating the furnishings? This pattern may come in handy as you can make it with old curtains! The Greyfriars and Grace Balerno Bag is fully lined and has an optional magnetic clasp. You can make it up in mid or heavy-weight woven fabric and may be able to use up some of your scrap fabrics you have lying around. You could upcycle redundant curtains or upholstery fabrics and give them a new lease of life! If you like this idea, check out Greyfriars and Grace patterns as many of them utilise pre-loved clothing and items!
