THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 27 JULY

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Are you ready for an epic update, team? This week, I'm giving you the lowdown on a new designer, dresses with delightful details and an elegant summer top that has staple written all over it.

NH Patterns

NH Patterns was founded by Tash, a UK-based designer who pivoted her ready-to-wear brand to producing sewing patterns. Tash discovered the huge sewing community and got to work transferring her drafting skills to designing patterns we can make at home!

Tash shares great tips for sewing your own clothes, as well as behind-the-scenes peeks on Instagram, so is well worth a follow!

NH Patterns Sienna Trousers

These seductively simple trousers have a chic cut, a high waist, and straight, wide legs. The elasticated waistband features a drawstring detail, and you'll be pleased to find that they have side seam pockets

NH Patterns April Blouse

The one you will want to sew on repeat, April has three different ways to make it, all with a comfortable, loose smock fit. This is an easy throw-on style with no fiddly fastenings other than ties at the neck and cuffs.

NH Patterns Ivy Dress

This sweet dress is just the job for summer festivals or BBQ gatherings. The one-shoulder design features a wide bell sleeve, elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit and an optional belt designed without belt loops. Ivy can also be made as a top with a shorter peplum rather than a skirt.

NH Patterns Riviera Trousers and Shorts

Riviera features an extra-wide waistband with the option to add a matching belt and belt loops. The tuck detail down the front of each leg adds a beautiful finishing touch, and it will be fun to sew!

Friday Pattern Company Wren Wrap Dress

There's a new wrap dress on the block and this one is full of subtle details that make it stand out from the crowd. Wren wraps to create a V-neckline and features adjustable spaghetti straps and a panelled skirt with extra gathering on the sides. The pattern comes with two cup size options (B/C or C/D). The bodice is lined for a clean finish.

Les Perlines Sailaway Dress

The Sailaway Dress is a romantic drop-waist dress with two bodice views and an interesting waistline detail. The open back with a keyhole detail will surprise and delight, while the elasticated ties create an adjustable and comfortable fit. The fully lined bodice has princess seams, and the A-line gathered skirt can be sewn in two lengths: mini or midi.

The Maker's Atelier Boat Neck Top

TMA are nailing the simple summer elegance. This feminine, pull-on top features a boat neck and two style options: one with grown-on short sleeves, and the other with bracelet-length raglan sleeves. Sew it up in plains for a versatile top that goes with everything, or in prints so it can take outfit centre stage!

Selvedge Magazine: Issue 125 Mediterranean

Pull up a rattan armchair and travel through the blue waters of the Mediterranean. This issue will take you on a dream tour of textile patterns and colours. It's pure escapism.

Hope that selection has hit the sewing inspiration spot! I'll see you for another update in a weeks time!
