THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 12 OCTOBER

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

What can I tell you about this week's Edit? The short version is that it's unbelievably good. The long version? Atelier Jupe has dropped two new patterns - equally as good as the other. We have a new coat pattern suitable for makers with a few projects under their belt, as well as a sweet nautical set that offers excellent value for money.

Tammy Handmade Faye Blouse

This pretty blouse is perfect for casual day dressing and looks great tucked into jeans. The relaxed fit will be easy to wear and fit. It includes three neckline options (round neck, V-neck and scalloped neck) as well as puff sleeves in three lengths to suit every season. You will get a lot of use out of this pattern, and will finally get to make use of the decorative stitches on your machine!

Fabric Godmother Arbre Coat

Whether you have never made a coat before or you have made several, you are going to want to make an Arbre. The easy, comfortable fit has been designed to be worn with layers underneath. Whats more, the clever raglan sleeves are made in two pieces to allow for movement and shaping. The variety of fabrics that work for Arbre mean you won't stop at one. From boiled wool to quilted fabrics to denim to fleece, whatever speaks to you, speaks to Arbre!

Atelier Jupe Alexa Blouse

This beautiful blouse ticks all the boxes. With details like the voluminous gathered sleeves, delicate collar, subtle shoulder gathers, a button placket at the front, and pleats at the back, you won't know what you love more. The fabric will really transform the simple styling, from boho to boardroom to maximalist, you can have a lot of fun with this pattern!

Atelier Jupe Jamie Dress

Deceptively simple to sew thanks to the seams at the centre front and back, which makes sewing the V-neck just a bit easier, Jamie is a dream dress. Another clever feature is the casings with elastic on the inside give Jamie a nicely fitted waist. Or you can sew the casings on the outside instead and pull a tie belt through. This dress looks stunning in a plain fabric to highlight the details, but is just as beautiful in a print!

The Maker's Atelier Faux Fur Jacket

Have you succumbed to the fluffy stuff in the fabric shop, hoping the right pattern will come along. Well, it has! The pared back jacket style has been designed to make the most of faux fur fabric. Pick from shawl or notch collar and that's it for your decision making for this project! Part rock 'n' roll, part glam, this jacket will come in handy during party season!

Pauline Alice Nautic Set

Fun, versatile and chic, this three-piece set is good value for money. Sew a cute sailor collared blouse, a skirt for autumn layering or sweet summer shorts. Or, even better, sew a cute nautical pyjama set. You can’t go wrong. Oh and at £8.50 for the PDF, it won’t break the bank either!

Itch to Stitch Orio Jacket

This stylish and versatile layer blends the comfort of a shirt with the practicality of a hoodie and the functionality of a lightweight jacket. Orio features princess seams from the shoulders for shaping and cup sizes for a great bust fit. It's a refined take on a wardrobe staple that you will want to wear on repeat.

JULIANA MARTEJEVS Cleo Hobo Bag

An easy bag that you can throw all your stuff into is a very useful thing. This fully lined bag has two design options: crossbody or on the shoulder. The top is secured with a snap fastener and you can add eyelets for a modern twist if you like.

Matchy Matchy Hopscotch Jumper

The Hopscotch Jumper is a bold and modern take on the classic overall, reimagined with a minimalist edge and playful spirit. Designed as an ultra-short mini dress with a low-hanging bib and subtle A-line shape, this pattern is perfect for confident beginners and seasoned sewists alike. The clean silhouette, oversized patch pockets, and adjustable straps make it both versatile and fun to sew—and even more fun to wear.

Silversaga Patterns Alma Dress

A timeless and romantic midi dress designed for the quiet moments and simple pleasures of everyday life. Alma features a gathered round neckline finished with visible bias binding, relaxed flutter sleeves, and an adjustable drawstring waist with fabric ties at the sides. With its simple construction and breezy fit, Alma is an ideal project for beginners and a satisfying sew for any skill level.
