THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 11 MAY

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

We've got a jam-packed Edit for you this week, so you'd better settle into a comfortable spot. We will share some adorable kids' patterns, cool and comfy trousers, a backpack that will make you catch the quilting bug, and a jacket with artistic leanings.

Fabric Godmother Calla Trousers

The Calla Trousers are a pull-on style with a relaxed fit. They have a full-length straight leg which finishes at the heel. The elasticated waistband sits at your natural waist. This pattern is designed for a beginner dressmaker, with options to add details that use more intermediate skills. Designed exclusively for knit fabrics, they are a comfy addition to your cool-girl wardrobe.

Sew Over It Amy Shirt

Amy features all the essential elements of a classic shirt: a collar and collar stand, back yoke with fully enclosed seams, button placket, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, a chest pocket, and a beautiful curved hem, perfect for tucking in or leaving out. With a slightly oversized fit, this shirt strikes the perfect balance between practical and chic.

Ready to Sew Holly Top

Enter the prettiest top of the summer, Holly is packed with delicate details that will be a joy to sew (and wear!). Inspired by the refined blouses and petticoats of the early 19th century, this piece brings a modern twist to traditional pintucks and drawstring gathers. With its airy silhouette (choose between a balloon or flared shape) and delicate straps, it's a light, easy to wear garment for summer.

Ready to Sew Harper Pants

Pair your pretty Holly top with its pintuck pal, the Harper pants for the ultimate summer lounge set. Inspired by 19th-century white cotton bloomers and petticoats, this design adds a fresh twist with a comfortable paper bag waist, cinched with a drawstring.

Harper is crafted from a single pattern piece with no side seams for a clean, fluid line. Delicate pintucks near the ankles add texture and a poetic touch, while adjustable ties at the hem create a soft, billowy, romantic silhouette.

Wardrobe by Me Artist Jacket

You lot have a soft spot for patterns with an artistic edge, so I think you are going to love this new arrival. This relaxed workwear-inspired piece features a band collar, rather than a typical shirt collar which makes a nice change, and optional patch pockets. The front and back are gathered to yokes, and you can choose to make the jacket with a straight or curved hemline. If you leave the pockets off, it feels more like a shirt giving this pattern a lot of versatility.

Sew Liberated Elevenses Backpack

Ready for your summer adventures to begin? This new pattern will help you make magical memories while being pretty practical. The Elevenses Backpack has a huge, adjustable roll top design that fits everything you need for adventures large and small. Pop a water bottle into one of the side pockets, tuck a journal into the front zipper pocket, and head out to take on the world with the help of the comfortable padded straps and back panel. It's a great excuse to get quilting!

Rosy Little Cheeks Innis Trousers

We saw these adorable barrel-leg bottoms at the Knitting and Stitching show and all had the same question: "Does it come in my size!". Cool kids can kick about in these stylish and comfortable trousers that feature a modern barrel leg shape. Designed with great details like an elasticated waist, back yoke, pockets with facings, and front hem darts, these trousers are both practical and playful. Lucky little ones!

Wardrobe by Me Children's Mini Jensen Shirt

The Mini Jensen is a modern and versatile button-up shirt. The pattern features a band collar, chest pocket, and curved hem. Its relaxed fit makes the Mini Jensen ideal for everyday play and special occasions alike. There is a matching men's pattern available here.

Wardrobe by Me Children's Volumen Pants

The Volumen Pants' roomy fit gives plenty of freedom to move, play, and enjoy everyday adventures. Both views feature an elastic waistband, side seam pockets, and back pockets. There are two options for the trousers - one with front pleats, and you can make them as sweet summer play shorts.

Hope that will keep you happy for another week! See you next time.
