I've got a cracking update for you. Flick through the latest Fibre Mood magazine with me, drool over Friday Pattern Co's latest design and swoon over a cardigan coat with the chicest tie detail. It's an unmissable sewing pattern update! -

THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 24 NOVEMBER
This week I am sharing a brand new innovation from Jenerates that we will never be without, six new woven labels for the sweary sewists of the group and two autumnal patterns that make a great outfit.

Let customers speak for us
from 3246 reviewsA lovely summer blouse! Really easy sew, just getting back in to sewing and made a couple of these and will be making more next summer. Made the version with boat neck line one with the ruffle and one without. I prefer the ruffle as it adds a little surprise detail to the back.
The adult version of this pattern is perfect, so it’s no surprise that the mini version would be too.
I love making matching clothes for me and my kids, so it’s always so good when a company releases a matching child and adult version. I made myself and my kids a matching loungewear pair and they loved them! I made it out of cotton flannel and they’re so comfy.
I have some fabric put aside so they can make another pair, they’re 4 and 6 and just getting into sewing, this is going to be such a good pattern for them to sew with me and it’s quick and easy and comes together beautifully
I am a big fan of Lucy and Yak, especially their dungarees, but of course being a sewer I don’t want to buy a pair I want to make my own!
This pattern is pretty much a perfect match. I have made more pairs than I can count and I’m always reaching for them. I love that there is a child’s options so yes of course I have made matching pairs for me and my minis.
They’re a really easy construction and the oversized nature of them makes fitting a breeze. They are honestly the only dungaree pattern I reach for now, since sewing my first pair I have no need for any others. I cannot rate this pattern highly enough, I will forever be making more!
When this pattern was first released I wasn’t into it. I thought the style wasn’t me and I couldn’t see myself ever making it. However, after seeing so many amazing versions I tentatively sewed up a wearable toile, with very low expectations but just wanting to jump on the bandwagon.
I can honestly say that my mind was quickly changed when it came off my machine and onto my body. I love this shirt so much! Not only is it a breeze to sew (it took me less than an hour and less than a meter of fabric), it is so comfy and easy to style.
When I wear it I have so many people compliment me and tell me how much it suits me. Honestly, I don’t know how FPC do it but once again they have absolutely nailed the brief.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy project, or a pallet cleanser in between makes I cannot recommend this pattern enough. It is the definition of quick win and trust me you will be reaching for it again and again in your closet.
I already have so many jogger patterns, I really didn’t need anymore. But I just couldn’t resist this pattern. It’s the pockets that sold me.
I love how they are sewn onto the seam, it gives it such a subtle yet beautiful element. So far I have made three pairs of the joggers and 1 pair of the shorts and they are currently on heavy rotation in my wardrobe this winter.
The instructions are excellent and really easy to follow and they sewed up a dream. I love the topstitching on the waistband and the baggy, but not too oversized fit. They are what I reach for when I need a comfy dopamine hit, and I feel just as good wearing them out and about as I do lounging around the house.
I’ve made this pattern a few times, and what I love about it most is how perfect it is as a base for hacking. It’s so comfy to wear, it truly is the perfect summer dress. I’ve made so many versions of it and each one better than the last.
It’s a great beginners pattern as it sews up fast and there are no complicated closures. It’s my go to dress in the summer
I love this jacket, I’ve made so many I’ve lost count. I’ve made several for myself, but also a couple for my dad and partner.
I’ve made all the lengths, and even lengthened and shortened the pattern to make a cropped version and a duster. It is so versatile and a great base so you can adapt it to make it your own.
The only thing I will say is that if you do make a shorter version the back will flare out, but this can be fixed with a couple of back pleats.
I love all the pocket options, and as always with FPC the instructions are fantastic. There are also a load of blog posts on their website for hacking options so you really get so much bang for your buck!
As soon as this pattern was released I snapped it up. I love a jumpsuit, and this one was perfect. I love that there are so many options and styles, it was really easy to sew, even with a zipper closure which usually I hate.
The fit is perfect and it’s so comfy, the only thing I will say is it’s worth getting the A0 files printed as there are quite a few pages to tape together.
The instructions are fantastic and with the lined bodice the finish is beautiful. I love the wide legs and the neck shape. I can’t wait to hack it into a playsuit for summer
These are the cutest pajamas/loungewear set! As soon as it was released I snapped up the pattern and got sewing. So far I’ve only made the shorts version but I have plans to sew up the trousers next.
The instructions were great and they came together really quickly. They’re so comfy to lounge in and I always get compliments when I wear them.
I used this gorgeous cotton lawn from Nerissa Pratt and it was a match made in heaven.
After ages of trying to find the perfect jeans pattern (and believe me I’ve tried loads) I think I’ve finally found it. I’d almost given up on making jeans, and was putting my denims aside for other projects, I thought I would give the Helenes a go. I was instantly obsessed and got my next pair cut out and ready to sew. The fit is perfect, the shape and style is excellent and the instructions are great.
Of all the jeans I've made this is the only pattern I will be going back to
I had visions of making these trousers for ages, but I’ll be honest when I first made them and tried them on I wasn’t sure, I didn’t feel like they were very flattering. However, after a day of wearing them I did a complete 180. They are one of the most comfortable trousers I own, and once I styled them correctly I couldn’t get over how much I loved them! The fit is perfect and the drafting is so good.
I used a mid weight denim and it worked perfectly for the pattern. It’s a slightly more involved project, but the instructions are fantastic and there is so much information provided. I think these would be an excellent option if you’re wanting to give fitted trousers a go as the construction is done on a really straightforward way. I’m already planning my next pairs.
I’ve made this pattern 3 times and I love it, when it was first released I was hesitant to purchase as I wasn’t sure it was my style, but after seeing so many amazing versions I had to give it a go. I can’t believe I waited so long, it’s so flattering and because of the shirring the fit is incredibly forgiving. It looks more complicated than it is but it actually was a fairly easy project and so perfect for the summer.
What a beautiful easy quick sew , I made this The Makers Atelier Big easy too .
Fast delivery from The foldline for my printed pattern I always use this service as I don’t have access to a print service and I know it will be here really quickly .
I used a micro fleece it’s so warm I did shorten it a little as I’m only 5,1 and I narrowed the neck a little too .
Good sizing clear instructions a definite must for your winter wardrobe
When Closet Core released this pattern I liked it, but I already owned the Carolyn Pajamas and on the face of it they looked very similar, however an opportunity happened that meant I would be sewing up the Frans, and boy was I wrong saying they’re similar to the Carolyn’s. Yes they’re both button up shirt and trousers Pj’s, but that’s where the similarities end. The Frans have a baggier, more oversized fit, they’re also a lot more casually styled and whilst I wouldn’t feel right wearing the Carolyn Pj’s out and about I wouldn’t wear these and feel like I’m just styling a co ord. I love the big box pleat and the back and the deep cuffs. I really like this pattern and the style, out of the Carolyn’s and the Frans I would say that this pattern is my preferred
Sometimes you want an oversized shirt, sometimes you want a fitted one, and sometimes you’re just a really awkward human and want that sweet spot in the middle. That’s exactly what this shirt is. It’s for oversized comfortable design elements, but it fits really well and hangs off the body beautifully. I spent ages looking for the perfect shirt, I’ve sewn loads but they’ve always been missing something. This is the perfect shirt and I will gladly be returning to this pattern for all my future shirts.
