The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases – 12th February 2023

If you’ve been sitting on the fence about the trouser trend, this might be the pattern that makes up your mind. Not quite a trouser, not quite a jean, the Sew Liberated Cosecha pattern is the best of both.

With interesting style lines and a cool workwear feel, Cosecha can be endlessly customised to suit your personal style. The elastic-back option confirmed they are the one for me!

The Trend Patterns TPC29 Gathered Wrap Dress has a boxy, relaxed shape that you can feel super comfortable in. The technical drawing sold it to me – I think its a really useful pattern to have in your collection! You can mix and match the pieces to create the style that speaks to you, picking from a wrap version, which uses self-made ties to fasten, a single front bodice with no opening and two different sleeve shapes. Oh, and there is an on-trend statement collar with the option to add a frill or not… the choice is yours!

Originally published in TAUKO Issue No. 4, the Vanessa Hansen Solvi Jacket was inspired by the traditional Norwegian folk costume the designer’s grandmother used to wear. It’s a beginner-friendly, unlined jacket that can be worn as a cardigan or casual blazer. Solvi is designed to be made in boiled wool, meaning there is no need to finish the edges – just cut and go!
