Buy the B6385 Coat sewing pattern from Butterick. It’s perfect for an intermediate dressmaker. Fitted coats have princess seams, back yoke with forward shoulder seams, two-piece sleeve, collar and pocket variations. A: Round collar. B: Pointed collar. C: Funnel neck.

Separate pattern pieces are included for cup sizes A, B, C, D.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

Suggested fabrics: Tweeds, Wools, Gabardine.

Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.

Carmel Funnel Neck B6385

Really classic tailored coat pattern, one of very few available since oversized coats are in fashion. Princess seams are very helpful in getting a nice fit and the sewing itself is very straightforward. Use the finished garment measurements as a guide for sizing. I opted to go down 2-3 sizes and adjust for my larger areas.

Butterick Misses’ Coats B6385

I did a slight pattern hack on this Butterick Lisette pattern. Made with a wool / cashmere mix coating fabric and spotty lining. Who doesn’t like a spotty lining?
