Vikisews Men’s James Pants PDF
Buy the Men’s James Pants sewing pattern from Vikisews. James is a pair of semi-fitted, straight pants gathered at the hems with wide elastic. The elastic is secured with two lines of topstitching. The pants feature slash pockets at the front and mid-thigh gusseted cargo pockets with flaps at the sides. There are decorative tabs made out of twill tape at the centre of the pocket flaps. The front leg has knee tucks along the inseams and side seams. There is a faux fly in the centre front seam. The applied elasticated waistband has a drawstring casing with twill tape threaded through it. The waistline is slightly lowered. The pants are ankle-length.

Suggested fabrics: Thick French terry, sweatshirt fleece, ponte di roma, heavyweight cotton, gabardine, denim, corduroy. To sew these pants, choose knit or woven fabrics with the following properties:
- Soft, breathable, stretchy or slightly stretchy, medium to heavyweight
- The fibre content can include natural fibres (wool, cotton, linen), artificial fibres (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + polyester, cotton + elastane, etc.) and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane)

Main fabric: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric, cut in one direction: 1.75 – 2.4 m (1 7/8 – 2 5/8 yd) // 160 cm (63″) wide fabric, cut in one direction: 1.53 – 2.22 m (1 5/8 – 2 3/8 yd) // 180 cm (70″) wide fabric, cut in one direction: 1.51 – 1.7 m (1 5/8 – 1 7/8 yd).
Sizing: Men’s 38 – 54. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Height 1 = 170 – 176 cm (5’7″ – 5’9″)
Height 2 = 178 – 184 cm (5’10” – 6′)
Height 3 = 186 – 192 cm (6’1″ – 6’3″)
Height 4 = 194 – 200 cm (6’4″ – 6’7″)

– Lightweight fusible interfacing, 140 cm (55″) wide, 0.2 m (1/4 yd) for woven fabric or 0.1 m (1/8 yd) for knit fabric. For knit fabric, may be replaced with pre-made straight grain stay tape, 0.4 m (3/8 yd).
– Elastic, 4.5 cm (1 3/4″) wide, 1.20 – 1.60 m (1 1/4 – 1 3/4 yd)
– Twill tape, 1.5 cm (5/8″) wide, 1.5 – 2 m (1 5/8 – 2 1/8 yd)
