Buy the Ukee Shorts sewing pattern from Helen's Closet. These mid-rise, pull-on shorts have three length options. View A is a longline short with cargo pockets, View B hits mid-thigh, and View C is a breezy short length. All views feature a comfortable elastic waistband with a drawstring, slanted front pockets, and back patch pockets. The shorts have a faux fly for a casual, laid-back look. Designed for light to medium weight wovens like cotton poplin, twill, or linen, these shorts are the perfect blend of ease and utility. Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics with no stretch. Cotton and linen are ideal. Lighter weight denim, canvas, or cotton twill are good options for View A (the longer cargo shorts). More fluid fabrics like rayon/viscose challis and tencel can work for Views B and C (the shorter views).
Fabric requirements:
View A (cargo): 57" (145 cm) wide fabric: 1.6 - 2.2 yd (1.5 - 2 m) // 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1.8 - 2.7 yd (1.6 - 2.5 m).
View B (mid-length): 57" (145 cm) wide fabric: 1.3 - 1.9 yd (1.2 - 1.7 m) // 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1.5 - 2.2 yd (1.4 - 2 m).
View C (short): 57" (145 cm) wide fabric: 1.2 - 1.8 yd (1.1 - 1.6 m) // 45" (115 cm) wide fabric: 1.4 - 2.1 yd (1.3 - 1.9 m).
Pocket bag lining: 0.4 x 1.1 yd (0.4 x 1 m). If you'd like to use the main fabric for the pocket bag, add 0.4 yd (0.4 m) to your main fabric yardage.
Sizing: US 0 – 34 (approx. UK 6 – 34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
This pattern has been drafted for a 5'6" (168 cm) tall person.
