THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES – 9 JUNE
Kate Underdown

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Fabric Godmother Fleur Blouse and Dress: Are you ready for the next blouse we are ALL going to want to sew? Enter the Fabric Godmother FLEUR Dress and Blouse. This beauty is a deal ringer for the very popular Ganni blouse that we’ve seen so many makers recreating – but now we have the perfect pattern ready to sew out of the packet – hooray. The playful bow ties and gathered peplum or skirt add an element of fun, while a secret placket stops you from showing more than you might want to between the bows! It means you don’t have to compromise on the style or worry about your bra peeking through.

The Maker’s Atelier Pleat Neck Blouse: Is feminine without being too frilly, this is a real wardrobe-building piece that pairs well with smart or casual trousers and skirts and also looks good under a jacket. I love this one.

Atelier Jupe Billie Top + Finn Shorts: This is a great option for your summer wardrobe. Billie is a loose top with a V-neck and short grown-on sleeves finished with wide trim. The Finn Shorts have an elastic waist and topstitched pockets. You can choose to have a full elastic waist, or only have elastic at the back and a flat front. If you’ve got a beachy holiday coming up, this would be perfect to pack.

Puff + Pencil Keyhole Dress: The Keyhole Dress is a fitted long dress with slits in both sides. The dress has an open turtleneck that ends in ties at the back. Waist ties cross at the front and also tie at the back. This pattern is made without a zipper, making it easier to sew. It’s a trendy little number perfect for dinner dates.

Puff + Pencil Topstitch Vest: The perfect addition to your spring or autumn wardrobe, the boxy Topstitch features trendy drop shoulders and two big front pockets, making it both stylish and functional. The placket has snap fasteners.

Lou Orth Designs Garden Flower FPP Quilt Block: This cute floral foundation paper piecing (FPP) pattern includes supplies, cutting information and a printable FPP template. Add a single flower block to a pouch or tote. Or make multiple blocks to create a quilt, cushion or table runner of any size!

Lou Orth Designs Divided Drawstring Pouch: A highly useful project for any avid sewer – this cute little drawstring bag has a slip pocket divider in the middle that goes all the way to the bottom, keeping everything in its place. It’s perfect for organising and storing your latest craft project or supplies. Or batch sew a few and keep a stash of them for gifting.

Helen’s Closet Orbit Bag: The Orbit Bag is a very fun project – Mel on the team has already made one! Orbit is a great project to try quilting on a small scale and build up your skills. There are different design options so you can customise your make to your tastes and can use pre-quilted fabrics if you prefer.
