Happy Sunday Fold Liners! It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

Looking for a lovely summer dress? I think we’ve found it! The Atelier Jupe Lea Summer Dress has a swirly, bohemian look and skirt hem that hits the midaxi trend. The elastic in the back ensures a comfortable fit. Lea is a sleeveless design, but you can add a little sleeve ruffle if you like. Lea is made for a popping summer print too!

It might not be sweater weather in the UK right now, but this one is a keeper! The My Handmade Wardrobe Funnel Neck Jumper is a modern cover-up that features a short funnel neck, boxy straight-cut body and faced hemline with side splits. Make it in the modern cropped length, which looks fabulous paired with high-waisted jeans. We love those subtly voluminous sleeves.

With swoon-worthy sleeves that feature delicate pleats – we are sold on the Chalk and Notch Shay Dress. It’s so pleasing to find a pattern that offers lots of options and lovely details, and Shay certainly does. The maxi dress has a wide scoop neck with a fitted bodice and the skirt has three gathered tiers. Oh, and you can make a really summery sleeveless version that would be great layered when it gets colder.

If you like making use of your unused scrap fabrics, this pattern will give you a helping hand! The Matchy Matchy Recess Play Pants feature an elasticated waistband, slant front pockets and optional back pockets. The seams down the centre front and centre back legs allow for optimal patchwork fun. You can also sew them with a mini peplum cuff for some added sass.

We’ve had a huge new drop of Simplicity sewing patterns for the summer. With a selection of swishy summer dresses, killer co-ords and some pretty nice knit fabric patterns, it’s tempting to add one to my seasonal sewing list. There’s also a lovely new batch of children’s sewing patterns and a couple of new menswear sewing patterns.
