THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 30 MARCH
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
Happy Mother's Day to anyone celebrating. I hope you get five minutes peace to catch up with me and the latest sewing pattern releases. I'll be taking you through newness from Tessuti and Maison Fauve, sharing a 'barrel-lite' leg trouser we all will want to sew this season and another banger from French Navy. Prepare to want to get busy on the machine!
This week, two simple yet stylish patterns join the Tessuti collection: an elegant bias-cut dress and a pair of chic trousers. Both are excellent additions to your holiday wardrobe capsule.
Tessuti Fabrics Alessi Bias Dress
Alessi is a pullover dress with a high round neckline. With the elegant fit and flare of a bias cut, this midi-length dress is suitable for both casual and dressier occasions.
Tessuti Fabrics Sammy Pants
These pull-on palazzo style pants are designed for drapey woven fabrics. Partially stitched-down inverted pleats control the volume and keep them sleek from waist to hip.
French Navy Stratus Top
This easy-to-sew top is just the job for anyone who has lost their sew-jo. Ideal for spring, the comfortable fit, V-neckline, and set-in sleeves are all this pattern needs to find its place in your wardrobe rotation.
Matchy Matchy Kite Pants
Scissors at the ready team, these pants are going to jump to the top of your sewing list. Designed with beginners in mind (but great for all skill levels), the Kite Pants come together quickly and are packed with playful details, including the trendy 'barrel-lite' leg shape. Matchy Matchy has even included a quilted version for the cosiest winter pants ever.
Say hello to a rather romantic new collection from Maison Fauve - À L'Ombre Des Roses. The five patterns take on a bohemian feel, but the structure of the designs gives them a polished and put-together appearance. Each one has the signature Fauve flair in the details. Here's our pattern picks:
Maison Fauve Hespéride Blouse
This dreamy blouse features an elegantly flared silhouette, structured with panelling and a captivating back design.
Maison Fauve Damas Jacket
Perfect for special occasions (aka wedding season!), Damas features a structured cut and subtly fitted silhouette, as well as shaped but not oversized shoulders.
Sew Over It Bow Bag
This little bag can be sewn out of the scraps from your me-mades to make a cute coordinating accessory! The bag features a boxed bottom and is fully lined. It closes with a regular or invisible zip, with zip tabs at the top for a neat finish. The bow at the front is caught in the side seams, and the bag is held through the bow so it dresses up your wrist as well!
Style Arc Genevieve Jacket
Genevieve is a rather elegant jacket with angled seams and darts and an asymmetrical zip front. The large shawl collar has an optional snap (stud) closure. Style it with tailored trousers for a polished look.
Style Arc Suzie Knit Dress
Suzie is a slip-on faux wrap dress with cap or long sleeves. It's easy to sew and elegant in its appearance. And, thanks to being designed for knit fabrics, it will be super comfortable to wear too.
Modern Handcraft Beads Quilt
This modern quilt design was inspired by a favourite activity of the designer and her son: making beaded friendship bracelets. The pattern is fat quarter and fat eighth friendly, or make a scrappy version for a fun look!
Modern Handcraft Checkers Quilt
This fun modern design gives an illusion of transparency by pairing light and dark shapes with a light and dark background. The pattern utilises half-circle blocks and is layer cake, fat eighth, and fat quarter friendly.
Modern Handcraft Ranges Quilt
Ranges is an updated version of the designer's original quilt pattern, Range. Ranges can refer to a mountain range in the distance or a range of complimentary colours. Ranges has two template sizes to create multiple size projects.
Hopefully, you can treat yourself to a new sewing pattern or two (and the sewing time to go with it. I'll see you back her in a week's time!
