THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES – 3 SEPTEMBER
Kate Underdown

Happy Sunday Fold Liners! It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases.  You might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

This is such a great dress to sew for autumn. The Goldenrod Dress features a structured bodice with square front and back necklines and a flared, lightly gathered skirt. The sleeves are elasticated at the cuffs for a whimsical touch.

I’m saying it now… 1/2 zip sweaters are going to be a must-have piece this autumn, so I’ve got my eye on this pattern! Roscoe has a boxy fit, a zipped front yoke with a funnel neck, and a spacious kangaroo front pocket.

The Sew Over It Emily Top is a very useful cami pattern to have in your collection! Choose between a cropped cami or a full-length cami with a beautiful curved hem. Make Emily with a V-neck or scoop neck, and keep it simple or add a pretty frill. Emily is finished with a facing that cleverly encloses all the raw edges on the armholes and neckline with the burrito method. You’ll want to make it over and over again!

Summer may be drawing to an end, but this pattern is too good not to share. My favourite feature is the partially elasticated waistband which makes the shorts more comfortable to wear and easier to fit. Complete the look with the Emily Top.

Are you ready to get to work on your autumn/winter sewing? This is a brilliant pattern if you want to add a handmade coat to your wardrobe. Bara Studio Selma is a fully lined coat with a lapel collar, welt pockets, and back vent. Selma has a step-by-step video tutorial which is great for anyone who prefers to watch the steps as they sew (in German with English subtitles).

We’ve added a stunning new collection from Vogue Patterns to the shop with some show-stopping occasionwear pieces and summery numbers – perfect for anyone with a late holiday planned.

We’ve had another drop of commercial patterns this week – a batch from Butterick. There are some smart/casual pieces, summer holiday wear and the cutest collection of children’s patterns. Go check them out!
