Kate Underdown

Happy Sunday Fold Liners! It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases.  You might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

On the hunt for a great summer shirt? The Sew Liberated Joanie Top is pretty snazzy. Joanie is a modern fit shirt with camp collar or shawl collar, that combines fun 50s style. With thoughtful details like a fully finished yoke, princess seams in the back, and two hem lengths, you’ll love this one.
Sizing: UK 6/8 – 32/34
Format: PDF

Camimade designs some really good patterns that are both simple and chic, but also have something special about them and the Sable Camisole and Dress is no exception. With its soft squared neckline at the front and back, Sable looks feminine, modern, and even romantic. I can see this being a pattern you’d want to make again and again.

Sizing: UK 6/8 – 20
Format: PDF

We are excited to see that Named is reissuing some of their back catalogue as they have some great patterns you can’t get anymore. Laurie is a plain and simple, straight-cut tee with fun wide pleats at the front. A not-so-basic, basic top!

Sizing: UK 6 – 28
Format: PDF

Itch to Stitch is a really good designer to go for if you usually make bust adjustments as they come with different bust cups to get a great fit, which is especially helpful with this pattern. The Santorini Tank is a semi-fitted design with princess seams for shaping. The neckline and armholes are neatly finished with an all-in-one facing.

Sizing: UK 6/8 – 34/36 with A, B, C, D and DD cups
Format: PDF

Fancy making a bag to lug all your bits and bobs around this summer? I can’t resist a duffel, and this is a fab one. The Hammershus sailor’s ditty bag is the perfect size for every day, your holiday or a project bag. Hammershus can be worn as a shoulder bag, crossbody bag or backpack. It has a quilted bottom for added stability and an inside pocket with a zip. The pattern comes with video instructions rather than traditional written ones.
Format: PDF with step-by-step video tutorial

A t-shirt is an essential piece in any summer wardrobe and we love this modern design from Tammy Handmade. The Naya T-Shirt is a stylish, loose-fitting tee featuring grown-on sleeves finished with cuff detail. A quick yet satisfying make!

Sizing: UK 6 – 32
Format: PDF

This pattern is just asking to be made up in a bold and fun summer print! Jeffrey is a men’s button-up shirt with a loose fit, back yoke, collar and short sleeves. View A adds a modern flair with flap pockets and snap closures. View B has a more classic look with buttons and buttonholes.
Sizing: Men’s XS – XXL
Format: PDF
