THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 13 APRIL

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind, but fear not, I always make time to fill you in on the latest comings and goings in the sewing world. I'm walking you through two smart yet comfy patterns from Liesl + Co, the must-have bag you can fit all your stuff in, and, some rather lovely homeware designs from Merchant & Mills.

Kylie & the Machine Claire Ritchie Full Bloom Labels

Introducing Kylie's second collaboration with Brisbane-based artist Claire Ritchie. Known for her bold and bright use of colour and nostalgic hand-drawn shapes, Claire has designed these labels to lift your mood and evoke positive affirmations for your daily life. The larger labels are perfect for adding to bags and the outsides of pockets.

BF Patterns Mia Messenger Bag

No outfit is complete without the right bag, one that can fit all your stuff is the dream. Mia is fully lined with a zippered pocket and optional device pocket, perfectly sized for small laptops or tablets. You won't stop at making one!

Looking for something smart yet comfortable? Liesl + Co have two options to consider.

Liesl + Co Northbridge Jumpsuit

The Northbridge Jumpsuit is easy to get in and out of thanks to the mock-wrap bodice with a keyhole opening in the back.

Liesl + Co Chacarita Wrap Dress

The Chacarita Wrap Dress is an easy-to-sew and easy-to-wear wrap dress with a twist: the wrap is in the back instead of the front!

Merchant & Mills TN34 Parka

The TN34 is a relaxed and versatile interpretation of the classic fishtail parka. Lined or unlined, with a hood or ribbing, it can work for all seasons.

Merchant & Mills Quilt and Sofa/Bed Topper

Instructions for making a quilt or topper for a bed or sofa. The topper is ideal for covering a sofa your dog might want to jump on, or for wooden benches. The topper is made using fabric ties, and the quilt is made with linen thread ties, but these techniques are interchangeable.

Merchant & Mills Relaxed Blind

Instructions for making a simple draped roman blind. This blind is a more modern take on a traditional roman blind and very much suits a laundered linen for an informal look.

Pen and Paper Patterns Stay Sharp Quilt

blahI can't think of a more apt quilt design than his for the sewing obsessed. This traditionally pieced pattern includes instructions for making four different scissor blocks.

Pen and Paper 'Oh My Cacti' Quilt

This desert-themed quilt pattern is fat quarter friendly and includes instructions for making two sizes. You can also download a bonus FPP snake block to replace a cactus block in the quilt or make a throw pillow!

Hope you enjoyed that little lot. I'll see in you in a week's time for an Easter Sunday special!
