THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 15 SEPTEMBER
It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!
We've got some exciting things in store for you this week. From the Merchant & Mills pattern collab with Paynter whose short-run jackets sell out in minutes, to a double dose of the emerging trend for carpenters pants. It's an unmissable update.
French Navy Langston Trousers - French Navy is proving that jeans can be comfy, very comfy indeed. The Langston Trousers feature vintage-inspired carpenter details that give them a utilitarian aesthetic. Leave the pockets and details off for a minimalist look
Merchant & Mills Unisex Paynter Jacket - Our pattern manager, Kristina filled me in on why this pattern is such a big deal and I have reserved my copy! Paynter Jacket Co. release limited edition jackets four times a year that are made to order, so there's no waste from overproduction. These classic pieces are designed to stand the test of time and get better with age. What's more, the paper copy comes with two limited edition labels. I think they are going to go quickly!
Sew Liberated Pinyon Pants - Hitting the utility/carpenter pants trend, the Pinyon Pants are gently fitted through the waist and upper hip, with generous ease through the hip and thigh. The angled waistband is lower in the front, increasing seated comfort and mobility, and closes with a fly front zipper and button. You can choose how many details you add, but I think the pencil pocket and hammer loop is a must!
JULIANA MARTEJEVS Winnie Top - Are you looking for a top with a modern twist? This T-shirt is a real eye-catcher thanks to its unusual neckline. With its close-fitting cut and underbust seams, Winnie fits your figure, while the teardrop-shaped cut-out under the bust and halterneck ties give it a unique look.
Tilly and the Buttons Ramona Skirt - Looking for a classic skirt to see you through the season? If vintage vibes are your thing, the 60s-inspired faux pocket flaps on the Ramona Skirt will be a sure thing. If you are a confident beginner and want to tackle a more fitted garment, the four waist darts, centre back seam and gently curved waistband will help you achieve a great fit.
Itch to Stitch Madalena Vest Top - This versatile sleeveless top features a wide scoop neckline and button front closure. With its front and back princess seams and multiple bust cup sizes, achieving a great fit is effortless. Sew an on-trend set by making matching bottoms.
That's all folks for another week. See you next Sunday for more new sewing pattern chat!
