CAPSULE WARDROBE: SPRING HAS SPRUNG

CAPSULE WARDROBE: SPRING HAS SPRUNG
Kate Underdown

As soon as the seasons shift, I crave a change-up in my wardrobe. The longer days,  warmer weather and glorious sunshine this week has got me thinking about my wardrobe. How we wear what we've got and what we need to add in. I'm always looking for hard working pieces that can be worn in lots of ways. I decided to to a capsule wardrobe of patterns for spring, this is always a fun way to look at patterns and how you can style them up with items you already own.

I've chosen 8 patterns and you can see the styling options below.

Tessuti - Lisbon Jacket: This unlined jacket is the perfect spring addition. Make it in a boiled wool if you want something cosy or a nice study canvas or denim. For those of you in warmer parts of the world it would look incredible in linen.

Daisy Chain - Liz Jacket: Quilted jackets are such a useful item, they can be worn as a cardigan as well as a jacket,t and for anyone who is always cold, like I am, you need one of these in your life. The enormous pockets on this jacket are wonderful.

Elle Stitch - Ginny top & dress: This simple pattern is elevated by the tie features at the neckline. I particularly love the shape of the sleeve on long-sleeved version. It also comes with a fab dress variation.

Madswick - Rosamund blouse: This might be a favourite pattern out there at the moment. The collar is big but understated with a button-down front. Anyone who loves a statement collar but found the frill trend a little much, this is for you.

Ready to Sew - Hendrix: This vest is bang on trend. Imagine your boyfriend's denim jacket that you ripped the sleeves off. There are loads of lovely details on this, including big pockets on the front.

Madswick MADE-line bundle: Anyone looking for some good basics this bundle is fantastic value for money with four patterns included. Uselful items you'll reach for time and time again.

Matchy Matchy - Kite: These barrel leg trousers have loads going on, check out the line drawings. Intersting seams and pockets make it a fun project to get your teether stuck into.

Wardrobe by Me - Big Shirt: This boxy dress and shirt are wardrobe staples. The dress can be worn open as a layering piece too.

Now you've seen the patterns this is is how I'd put them together to make outfits:
