Capsule Wardrobe: Autumn Weekend Away
As the seasons change I like to get out my warmer clothes and reconnect with my knitwear... god I love knitwear. Many of us are heading off on a weekend away or a city mini-break over the coming months and I've created an edit of patterns that would all work perfectly.
Whether you need to sew an extra piece or two or just fancy a little inspiration, you'll hopefully find something in this capsule wardrobe. I have picked seven sewing patterns that would be great additions to your handmade wardrobe.
Let's meet the patterns:
- Eliza Trench Coat sewing pattern from Papercut Patterns: This super simple trench/mac is a good layering piece. as the weather is still quite mild this trans-seasonal item is perfect before you have to pull your big winter coat out.
- Abbie Jacket sewing pattern from Vikisews: I chose this jacket as it can be worn as a jacket or jumper so a great item for a weekend away. The jacket has a zip up the front and fab collar. Make sure you sew it up in something cosy like the sample.
- Audrey Dress and Blouse sewing pattern from Veronica Tucker: This pattern has so many variations you could almost make an entire capsule out of it. This amount of variety means you'll use it again and again.
- Ivie Dress, Top and Skirt sewing pattern from Chalk and Notch: Another pattern with loads going on, a top, skirt and dress. The top and skirt look great together but can be worn separately.
- Scout Shirt or Dress sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills: a super shirt and dress with a pop over style.
- Eve Trousers sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills: A perfect weeekend trousers with a slight taper at the ankle. I love the side fastening zip
- Yoyo Knit Top sewing pattern from Style Arc: I love this pattern it's such a useful item for your wardrobe. Choose between a cropped or longer version making it a perfect jumper pattern for all occasions.
