THE BRAND EDIT: ME + EM
Kate Underdown

We asked you which shop you'd all love for this week's brand edit and there was a huge number of replies. There were so many great options to choose from but Me + Em came out on top. This is another brand I really love so I was delighted to get hunting.

I got through all the patterns in a bit more detail in the video and the images are all down below

The Looks:

First up with have a fab shirt dress with a tie waist and pockets on the chest. I love the change in stripe direction for these. The Style Arc Palmer works well as the proportions are all spot on. The only tweak is to add pockets.

I love this two piece, it's sold together as one item. The strappy dress with the cropped top is such a clever idea. I was pretty chuffed with the two patterns. The True Bias Zoey dress is a lovely pattern and felt close to the Me + Em version. The Sew House Seven Revel is spot on.

I loved this dropped waist dress and could see it becoming a summer staple. I found a good option in the Fibre Mood Lennox. You could change the pleats in this to gathering to make it even closer in style.

Gawd I swooned over this dress in the shop, it's made from silk and has so many beautiful details. I was pretty pleased with the New Look 6719 you might want to make a long tie to go with it like the pink dress.

I always enjoy checking out their tailoring as their stuff is so beautifully made. Inside the garment is just as beautiful as the outside. The Atelier Jupe Blake trousers with their double pleat felt like a great option.

We've spoken about barrel log being in this season and there were loads of options available. The trousers have a panel instered in the leg with is a fab detail. The Helen's Closet Falconer also features this and has the barrel shape.

This skirt is so great, a classic style that you'll reach for time and time again. The Burda 6252 was bang on... now all you need to do is fines some beautiful stipe demin and you are good to go.

This shape featured a lot on the high street Me + Em has got a few of these styles in for summer. The Patterns Rooms Tina would be a great pattern for this.

I loved this cropped boxy workwear jacket, it's got really big pockets. The Fibre Mood Madou was my choice for this and you may want to make the pokets bigger.

Next up this cute little Chanel inspired jacket and the Bella Loves Freddie is such a lovely option.

I loved this jumpsuit so much I spent hours looking for a similar one. I don't this is perfect but the Sew Love Springe is pretty close.

This beautiful zip up jumpsuit came in several colours. If you removed the pockets from the Closet Core Blanca I think it could work well.

This 70's zip up demin number is amazing and as soon as I saw the McCalls 7908 I knew it would work well. The only tweak is to add some flair to the trouser leg.

Blouses were probably the hardest of the hunts... They have sooo many beautiful blouses and I was really looking forward to hunting them out. Sadly I couldn't find exact matches of any of the above so U have selected some patterns that feel close to these.

I love the Positaino with its interesting seam lines. For anyone swooning over the pintucks then check out the Byrdie. The Erika and the Sienna have a lovely proportion to them and for anyone loving a ruffle the Amelie is beautiful.

I really hope you enjoyed that and found something to inspire your next seiwng adventure....

I love the strappy tank dress and the cropped over-top combination, but the Zoey is for knits, and the Revel is for woven fabrics. How do you get that perfect fabric match, which is the charm of this ensemble?

Hi Team. Great pattern advice as always, but what stops me from buying is the lack of info on fabric choices. Be fab if you could at least report on the Me+eM fabrics used in your selection/ edit…..And talk about where to buy really suitable fabrics. Help please, I really want to sew but this is holding me back. Thanks x

The button front skirt could also be made from Closet Core’s Fiore skirt. One of the options is a perfect button front A-line skirt with those same big pockets in the front. It’s not the view on the cover of the pattern.
