Brand Edit: Toast (the return)

Back by popular demand we've got another brand edit of Toast. We asked who you'd like to see again and it was an overwhelming response! So I trotted off to Toast and had a good look and their winter collection and I think I've found some great options for you. I've gone into more detail in the video but the images and links to the patterns are below.

Let start with outerwear, this beautiful pea coat in a navy thick wool. The Bella Loves Kia would be a great dupe for this, just leave off the tabs at the sleeve.

I was really taken with this denim workwear jacket come mac. It seems like such a useful item you can wear all year round. The Modern Sewing Co Darcy would be fantastic, leave off the pocket tabs and perhaps think about adding a pocket at the chest, or even just add it as a top stitching detail.

Finally we couldn't miss out of a workwear jacket... it's this a goody! They had this is a few iteration in a lovely cord fabric. The Warbrobe by me Painter would be perfect for this , just leave off the pocket the the chest.

Let's move into the dress department. First up this super  pinafore in an really structured demim. The Paper Theory Ray is a lovely pattern and in you made the topstitching in the same colour as the fabric it would work well.

I loved this shirtdress and really wanted to find a pattern for it. The Named Loviisa would be a fantastic starting point. You'd need to lengthen it, add oversized patch pockets and leave off the buttons. Which feel like easy alterations to achieve this beauty.

This lovely dress comes out each season in a beautiful fabric and the gingham is perfection. The Matchy Matchy Horizon is a fantastic match for this and if you are looking for gingham the Merchant and Mills will sort you out something fabulous.

Toast always have a very strong shirt offering and I've chosen two for you. This is one of their classic styles that comes out each season and is such a classic item you'd reach for again and again. The Merchant and Mills Niven is such a good match for this.

This beautiful gathered collared shirt featured quite a lot in the shop, with a few variations on a theme. We thought that the Madswick Carol would be perfect for recreating this look.

Next up our bottom halves! I've chosen two trousers styles that repeat each season. First up this cord trouser, with a tapered leg and elasticated waist. The Anna Allen Pomona is such a good match for this.

I love this style of trouser I actually own a pair myself! I love the flat front with the elastic at the back as it's super comfortable to wear. The Tilly and the Buttons Winnie are a pretty good match, they are ever so slightly looser in the leg.

Finally we have this a-line skirt pattern that I loved. Cut that little bit longer makes it more interesting. I thought this would be easy to find but how wrong I was! Finally I found the Nina Lee Camden. You'd need add quite a bit to the length but then it would work perfectly.

I hope that was helpful and you found something fun to sew. We'll be back soon with another brand edit. Who would you like to see next?
