Buy the Freddie Jacket sewing pattern from Bella Loves Patterns. Freddie is a single-breasted boxy jacket with a round neckline finished with front and back facings. The jacket has side bust darts, side panels, and a centre back seam. Shoulder pads and sleeve heads create structure. The two-piece sleeves feature a vent with four sham buttons. The pattern includes two pocket options: single welt pockets with a button flap, or patch pockets. Freddie is fully lined and has an optional chain weight on the inside hem.

Main: Freddie was designed to work with tweeds/bouclé fabrics also known as "Chanel fabrics". The fibres can be natural, such as wool or cotton, artificial or blends.
Lining: Lightweight slippery fabrics such as satin, habotai, viscose satin lining, crepe de chine, viscose twill, cupro or acetate.
The light blue jacket in the photos is made of 100% polyester bouclé and 100% polyester lining. The dark blue jacket is made of 100% wool tweed and 100% viscose satin lining.
Fabric requirements:
Height Group 1: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Main, 1.6 - 1.8 m (1.8 - 2 yd) // Lining, 1.2 - 1.4 m (1.4 - 1.6 yd).
Height Group 2: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Main, 1.7 - 1.9 m (1.9 - 2.1 yd) // Lining, 1.3 - 1.5 m (1.5 - 1.7 yd).
Sizing: UK 6 – 22 (approx. UK 6/8 – 18/20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
This pattern is drafted to fit a B cup size and has two height options:
Height Group 1: 160 cm (5'3")
Height Group 2: 170 cm (5'7")
Select the closest height to your body. If you are in the middle, choose the taller. Both groups have the same width around the body – the only difference is in the length. If you are outside these height groups, you may need to alter the pattern length at the lengthen/shorten lines marked on the pattern pieces.
Notions: Lightweight woven interfacing; 20-22 mm (3/4") buttons, six for View A or four for View B; eight 12-16 mm (1/2"-5/8") buttons for cuffs; 1.2 cm (1/2") wide straight edge tape; 1.2 cm (1/2") wide bias stay tape; one set of 1.2-1.5 cm (1/2"-5/8") tailor's shoulder pads; small amount of thin wadding for sleeve heads // Optional: 3 cm wide plain hem tape; 5 mm wide chain weight, 1 m (1 yd) for sizes 6-14 or 1.2 m (1.4 yd) for sizes 16-22 // Note the front closure of the jacket can have 4 or 5 buttons depending on taste and size.
